Benjamin Cunha (33), an ex Diamond Springs firefighter, has plead guilty to starting the 80 acre Mine Fire in 2007.

He only got sentenced to 5 years in prison for his crime. His attorney says he was trying to get overtime pay. The fire caused $7 million in damage, but he was only ordered to pay $247,000 in restitution.

Watch your possessions: Thieves busy in District 3

In case you weren't already aware of it, District 3 of Calaveras County, from Murphys to the Alpine County line is so full of thieves, you have to protect your possessions carefully.  Be sure to watch for close neighbors to be the thieves; especially if they don't work.

In Murphys on February 23, 2016 a resident reported that his chain saw was stolen. Sadly,  Supervisor Oliveira has done nothing to protect us, either from thieves, druggies or violent racist thugs with guns.

Supervisor (Gun Lunatic) Oliveira says....

...that he has brought a manufacturing plant to Calaveras County and that it will provide many jobs.

He says they make tools for jet airplanes apparently, and we assume he is building it in District 3.  We will be following up on this to see if it's true or not.

Calaveras County loses the only good Supervisor left

From Supervisor Debbie Ponte, District 4, Tuesday February 24, 2016

      Community of Calaveras County:

Today I announce that I will not be seeking reelection

What has happened to Calaveras County??

"Hey Ollie! We got rid of her
just like you said we could!
Move over so we can sh** on
the voters, too!"
As most residents of Calaveras County know, Chris Wright will not be running for re-election and now Supervisor Debbie Ponte has decided not to run again, but who can blame her. Her fellow Supervisors have done anything but support her in any way.

Calaveras County is losing respect due to the three Tea Party Supervisors (Edson, Kearney and Oliveira), who we have witnessed doing nothing but abuse the office, harass Supervisor Ponte, and enact the worst legislation this county has seen in the last
50 years.
