Cow out on Hwy 26--Don't tell the TROLL!

   March 13, 2016 at 6:45 PM:  A cow is out at Warren Road and Hwy 26 in the Rancho Calaveras area.

   Don't tell the TROLL, so that his owner can be found and put him back in the pasture safely.  Be cautious until the roadway is clear.

Car runs off Hwy 49

   March 13, 2016 at 5 PM:  A white sedan reportedly ran off Hwy 49 in the curves outside Mokelumne Hill.

   It isn't yet known if there are injuries. CHP is en route to the scene. Be careful if headed that way.

Tree down on Butte Mountain Cutoff

    March 13, 2016 at 3:50 PM:    A tree has fallen at Butte Mountain  Cutoff and Clinton Road near where the Butte Fire started in Amador County.

   Drive extra carefully in that area until a crew can clear the roadway.

Another Flood Watch for Butte Fire "scar area"

   The natonal weather service has issued yet another warning for Calaveras County's Butte Fire "scar area" from Sunday, March 13, 2016 through Monday March 14, 2016.

  Avoid that area if at all possible per the Calaveras Sheriff's Office.

Coachella Valley in pot boom

     The Desert Hot Springs area is booming with all types of business, real estate and overwhelmingly, commercial marijuana grows. Mr. Big Pot McManus is needed there, to spew his hate for pot!!

   Suffering from the recession, Supervisors in the area are already issuing licenses to growers of all types. They are centrally located to the LA area. Congratulations, Desert Springs.

Power lines across roadway

   Power lines are reportedly across Allan Road in the Volcano area. Reporting party poked them with a stick and they sparked.

   PG&E has been notified.   CalFire is also en route to the scene. Avoid the are if possible.

Collision in Plymouth

   March 13, 2016at 11:45 AM:   A traffic collision has been reported at Latrobe Road and Lorentz Road in Plymouth.

   No injuries have been indicated. CHP is en route to the scene.

High School artists featured at art show

   The Calaveras Arts Council is featuring high school ArtSpririt winners in an exhibition at their gallery in San Andreas.

   Through April 2, 2016 you can see art like this one, called 'Clockwork' by Skylar Foust.

Car runs off Obyrnes Ferry Road

  March 13, 2016 at 11:15 AM:  CHP is at the scene of a collision on Obyrnes Ferry Road and Old Obyrnes Ferry Road where a car went off the roadway and down the embankment, overturning onto its roof.

   An ambulance is also en route to the scene. Use extra caution if in the area of the bridge on the Tuolumne County side.

Out of gas vehicle blocking Hwy 49

   March 13, 2016 at 7 AM:  A vehicle reported parked on Hwy 49 near Del Orto Road in Mokelumne Hill facing the wrong direction and partially blocking the roadway is apparently out of gas.

   The driver was indicated having walked for gas, hitch-hiking, but CHP was unable to locate anyone walking along the road. The car is parked in the 13 curves, so be careful if headed that way.

Collision on Hwy 4

   UPDATE at 7 AM: Now a report was called in that a sedan with overturned collision damage was found driving on Murphys Grade Road. CHP is at the scene.

Fatal crash in Atwater

   UPDATE: Per CHP the vehicle is cold and this crash must have occurred some time earlier than reported.

Avalanche control on Hwy 88

 March 13, 2016 at 5:50 AM:  Due to avalanche control  Hwy 88  has  been closed at different times during the  night, but has now been reopened.

  It is recommended that alternate routes are used.

Chains required in Camp Connell

   March 13, 2016 at 5:50 AM:  Caltrans is requiring chains on Hwy 4 in Camp Connell. 

    Drive carefully if you are headed for the mountains today.
