Comedian Garry Shandling dies

   Garry Shandling suffered a heart attack this morning in Santa Monica a passed away suddenly.

    Shandling was 66 years old and had not been known to be ill.

Sheep on Hwy 49

   March 24, 2016 at 3:55 PM:  Sheep have been reported on Hwy 49 in Columbia.

   CHP is trying to locate the owners. Be extra cautious in that area.

Motorcycle collision in Ballico

   March 24, 2016 at 3:50 PM:  A motorcycle has crashed at Oakdale Road and East Avenue in Ballico.

   CHP is at the scene. Minor injuries resulted from the crash.

Collision in Sonora

   March 24, 2016 at 3:45 PM:  A collision has been reported on Hwy 108 and Lime Kiln Road in Sonora.

   No injuries were indicated. A tow truck has been dispatched.

Collision on Hwy 4 in Ebbetts Pass

  March 24, 2016 at 12:50 PM:  A car and pickup collided and then one rolled over on Hwy 4 near the Spicer Road turnoff.

   CHP is en route to the scene. An ambulance has been dispatched. Be cautious as it is blocking the roadway.

Trump and Clinton lead in early California primary polls

  Donald Trump leads Cruz by double digits in the California Republican primary polls, which is a closed primary.

   Hillary Clinton leads in the early polls over Sanders in the Democratic primary in California.

Time to register for Mr. Frog's Wild Ride

   The annual Mr. Frog's Wild Ride will be held on Saturday April 16, 2016 and the time to register for the event is now.

   You can register online for $50 for the 50K race and $100 for the 100K race at The event benefits the Feeney Park Foundation.

   UPDATE:  The #1 lane is shut down on I-5due to this collision.

Collision on Hwy 26

   March 24, 2016 at 11:35 AM:  A Honda has collided with a flatbed trailer on Hwy 26 at Gertrude, just east of Hwy 99.

   CHP is at the scene. No injuries have been reported.

Placer County wants water laws lifted!

   In a letter to California State Governor Brown, Placer County has requested all water restrictions for Placer County are no longer necessary; that they have much more than enough water.

   In Calaveras County we NEVER did have a shortage of water. Still, CCWD mandated us to insane restrictions, killing most of property owners landscape, natural and planted.  WHY is CCWD not demanding to have the restrictions lifted?

CCWD refuses to lower rates!!

   The Calaveras County Water District (CCWD) met yesterday to discuss water rates.

   They continue to REFUSE to LOWER our water and sewer rates. All they did yesterday was postpose another RATE INCREASE!!

Traffic collision in Volcano area

   March 24, 2016 at 9:25 AM:  A car has run off Ponderosa Drive near Pine Drive West in the Volcano area.

   CHP is en route to the scene. The car is in a ditch and has two car seats inside. 

Joe Guidice heads to prison for bankruptcy fraud

     More common that widely known.

    Real Housewives star Teresa Guidice has already served her time for bankruptcy fraud and now it is her husband Joe Guidice's turn.

   We have heard that bankruptcy fraud is more common

   UPDATE at 10:30 AM:  CHP is still working to clear this collision. One vehicle was a box truck.

Calaveras Supervisors go Confederate Tea Party??

   On Tuesday, March 29, 2016 the Calaveras Supervisors will hold a NIGHT meeting, starting at 5:30 PM in the Board Chambers in San Andreas.

   To follow up on their racist policy vote to proclaim Kelly Wooster a hero instead of a racist at their last meeting, they have invited the Tea Party bunch to offer them a chance to join a "Confederate" movement to join the State of Jefferson and leave California.
