Collision at Hwy 99 and Hwy 88

   April 11, 2016 at 2:45 PM:  A traffic collision has been reported on northbound Hwy 99 at Hwy 88 in Stockton where a driver lost control of his car and ended up in a ditch.

   CHP and an ambulance is en route to the scene. Apparently the driver is standing outside the vehicle cussing.  Be cautious if in that area.

Big rig collsiion on Hwy 99

   April 11, 2016 at 12:35 PM:  A big rig collision involving a utility trailer with another vehicle has been reported at southbound Hwy 99 and Hwy 4 in Stockton.

   Apparently there is some type of axle problem. CHP is en route. It isn't known if there are any injuries.

Collision victim at Sutter Amador Hospital

   April 11, 2016 at 12:30 PM:   A person who's car ran off the roadway in Jackson and down into a gully, called from Sutter Amador Hospital to report the collision.

   He apparently doesn't want a tow and the location of the vehicle is not clear.

Kearney's lies should prove his downfall-RECALL!

   Calaveras District 5 Supervisor Steve Kearney wrote on his Facebook page false statements about his position on jobs and why he is being recalled.

   Kearney is the absolute opposite of what he writes. HE is the one who is catering to the ELITE - the FORD company, who owns the ASPHALT Plant and Voorhees, the big developer in Valley Springs.

Tree down on Fiddletown Road

   April 11, 2016 at 12:10 PM:  A tree is down on Fiddletown Road near Hale Road just outside Fiddletown.

   One lane is blocked, so be extra cautious until a crew can get out to clear the roadway.

Taxes not due til April 18, 2016

   Just for the procrastinators (actually because the 15th of April falls on Friday this year) your taxes will be due by Monday April 18, 2016.

   Three extra days! Better get to work!

Suburban and Mustang collide in Sonora

     April 11, 2016 at 11:40 AM:  A gold Chevy Suburban and a blue Ford Mustang have reportedly collided on Hwy 108 and Washington Street in Sonora.

   No injuries were indicated. It is not currently blocking the roadway. CHP is en route to the scene.

Load of Cement dumped in Twain Harte

   April 11, 2016 at 11:45 AM:  CHP is still awaiting a clean-up crew for a pile of cement that was accidentally dumped at Big Hill Road and Kewin Mine Road in the Twain Harte area.

    The roadway should be cleared soon.

Vehicle in ditch in Valley Springs

    April 11, 2016 at 11:15 AM:  CHP has been asked to return to the scene of a vehicle that left Hwy 12 near Lime Creek Road in Valley Springs and ran into the ditch.

   A tow truck was responding, and CHP left, but an officer is now returning to the area.

Mountain Ranch man arrested at Senders

   On April 10, 2016 Calaveras Sheriff's deputies arrested Frank Allen West (20) of Mountain Ranch at Senders in Mountain Ranch.

    West was booked into the Calaveras County Jail for alleged Sexual Intercourse with a Minor and Oral Copulation with an underaged minor, both felonies.

Arrest for alleged Firearm Theft in Valley Springs

   On April 10, 2016 the Calaveras Sheriff's Office arrested Gray Bond Gracy (29) of  Hayward on Owens Way in Valley Springs.

   Gracy was booked into the Calaveras County Jail for allegedly being a Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Prohibited Ammunition and Violation of Parole, all felonies and for Petty Theft of Property under $950, a misdemeanor.

Big rig and Volkswagen collision in Tracy

   April 11, 2016 at 9:40 AM:  A big rig and a black Volkswagen Jetta have collided at the northbound I5 connector with Hwy 120 in the Tracy area.

   CHP and an ambulance are en route. If headed in that direction, be extra cautious.

Burglaries and thefts reported in Calaveras County April 10, 2016

   A burglary was reported on Red Hill Road in Vallecito. The Calaveras Sheriff's Office took a report.

   A resident on Owens Way in Valley Springs reported firearms had been stolen. The Calaveras Sheriff took and report; the firearms were recovered and an arrest was made.

   A locked vehicle on Hwy 4 in Arnold was reportedly burglarized. The Calaveras Sheriff's Office took a report.

Roberta Ann Wallace of Murphys

   Roberta Ann Wallace of Murphys, devoted wife, mother, sister and daughter, died peacefully in her sleep Thursday April 7, 2016 at 10:35 PM at Avalon Mark Twain

Car vs. tree in Modesto

    April 11, 2016 at 8:50 AM:  A blue Chrysler van has struck a tree at Grayson Road and Carpenter Road in West Modesto.

   An ambulance and CHP are responding to the scene. Use extra caution if in that area.

Train cuts car in half in Madera

   April 11, 2016 at 8:30 AM:  CHP and medics are working a collision between a train and a car on Santa Fe Drive and Avenue 15 in Madera.

   The car was apparently split in half and one person was trapped inside with major injuries.  Be extra cautious if in that area until they can transport the injured driver and clear the tracks.

Collision on Hwy 4 near Stockton

   April 11, 2016 at 8:30 AM:  Two pickups collided on Hwy 4 near Adelbert Road, east of Stockton.

   A tow truck is responding. One truck is in the ditch off the roadway and one is in the lanes.  Be cautious until they can clear this collision. No injuries were indicated.

Calaveras KKK Project meets???

    We have been informed that the Calaveras KKK Project may be finally getting a boost.  Up to now, we heard that "they are not the smartest nuts in the bowl".

   Apparently some out the area members came to Calaveras and held a workshop on how to form their own local club.


Vehicle parts reported in Mountain Ranch

   April 11, 2016 at 8 AM:  A driver reported stopping and picking up car parts on Whiskey Slide Road near Worden Road in Mountain Ranch.

   CHP was dispatched to the scene but has so far been unable to locate a damaged vehicle.

Car in ditch off Railroad Flat Road

   April 11, 2016 at 5:15 AM:  A car has been reported in a ditch off Railroad Flat Road near Jesus Maria Road in Mountain Ranch.

   An ambulance and tow truck are responding. There is fog in the area, so drive carefully.
