Clinton and Trump take New York, New York

   Hillary Clinton has been projected as winner of New York for the Democrats and Donald Trump has won the Republican primary.

   Clinton is currently at 60-40% and Trump is at nearly 70% with Kasich and Cruz following in 2nd and 3rd place.

German Shepherd on Jamestown roadway

   April 19, 2016 at 2:45 PM:  A German Shepherd has been reported at Rawhide and Hwy 108 in Jamestown.

   Use extra caution. CHP is en route to the area.

Jack-knifed big rig on Jesus Maria Road

   April 19, 2016 at 12:40 PM:  A caller reported to CHP that a big rig jack-knifed on Jesus Maria Road and Hawver Road in Mokelumne Hill.

   The driver dropped the trailer and fled the scene. Plates were apparently out of New Hampshire.  CHP is at the scene.

Bicyclist hit in Valley Springs

   April 19, 2016 at 12:30 PM:  A bicyclist reported he was hit by a pickup that then left the scene at Paloma Road and Hwy 26 in Valley Springs.

   There was a dog in the truck and the party thinks they are on Hartvickson Lane. Authorities are checking the address.  The bicyclist is reportedly injured.

"She stole my Glock and punched me in the nose"

   On April 18, 2016 three calls to the Calaveras Sheriff were made by residents on Baldwin Street in Rancho Calaveras.

  First was a report of Assault with a Deadly Weapon due to someone apparently pulling a gun

"Taking my father's headstone home with me"

   On April 18, 2016 a person reported that her father's headstone on Pixley Avenue in San Andreas had been disturbed.

   Worried someone would steal it, she took it home with her for safekeeping. The Calaveras Sheriff took a report.

The great 'Backpack Robbery' in Copperopolis

   On April 18, 2016 the Calaveras Sheriff's Office received a report of two backpacks having been stolen at Hwy 4 and Shirley Road in Copperopolis.

   The suspects apparently were in a gray Mercedes and stopped at the Shell station, then headed west on Hwy 4, possibly had a weapon.  The Sheriff's Office took a report. 

Car vs. deer on Hwy 4

   April 19, 2016 at 9:15 AM:  A Chevy Equinox has reportedly struck a deer at Hwy 4 and Vallecito Bypass Road in Vallecito.

   CHP is at the scene. An ambulance and tow truck are responding. Be extra cautious if headed in that direction.  The deer didn't make it.
 

Three vehicle collision involving big rig

   April 19, 2016 at 8:30 AM:  A three vehicle collision involving a white van, a big rig and a gray Toyota is blocking all northbound lanes of Hwy 99 at French Camp Road in the Lathrop area.

    An ambulance and two tow trucks are responding. The Toyota is on its roof. Avoid the area if possible.
