Central Valley areas seeing flooding

   While Calaveras County isn't seeing much in the way of rain, the Central Valley and especially the Los Banos areas, are seeing roadway flooding and even hail.

   It could be on its way to Calaveras, so be prepared.  No one will complain. We'll take all the rain we can get.

Hit and Run by Fed Ex truck???

   May 5, 2016 at 6:30 PM:  A driver has reported that he was sideswiped by a Fed Ex truck at Hwy 99 and Landers in Turlock at nearly the same location as the fatal crash this morning.

   CHP is at the scene and are investigating. Apparently the Fed Ex driver did not stop.

   We are trying to locate other places for people to find and sign the petition and will post them when we know.

Big rig crashes off Hwy 99 - Driver dies

   UPDATE at 2:30 PM:  The fully loaded big rig is being unloaded and a tow truck is on scene to tow it.  The big rig driver did not survive the crash.

RV on Fire at Big Trees State Park

   UPDATE:  The vehicle was overheated, but not on fire.

Fire reported in San Andreas

   May 5, 2016 at 1:15 PM:  Engines have been dispatched to 588 W. St. Charles Street after reports of a fire at that location in San Andreas.

   There has been mention of a glass blower involved. No other details are currently available.

   On the Calaveras Supervisors agenda for May 10, 2016 is Barbara Yook, District Attorney's request for a County victim services program under her watch.

Driver sought in Hit and Run Collision on Hwy 26

   On May 4, 2016 around 3 PM an unknown driver was driving a 1978 Chevy in the eastbound traffic lane of Hwy 26 in West Point at an unknown speed.

Calaveras Bully Supervisor Edson goes all out to try for re-election

   At the Calaveras Supervisor meeting on May 10, 2016 Bully Supervisor Edson is approving a ridiculous disc golf at the San Andreas park.

   First, however, they have to create ADA handicap requirements.  This is to try and get more votes in his desperate re-election attempt for District 1.

Traffic collision on Poole Station Road

   According to CHP on May 3, 2016 John Marvin Munn (58) of Angels Camp was traveling northbound on Pool Station Road in a 2007 Ford around 10:55 AM at approximately 40-45 MPH.

   Mr. Munn made an unsafe turning movement to the left, per the report, and he allowed the vehicle to leave the roadway and enter the west shoulder.

   When the Ford entered the west shoulder it collided with a barbed wire fence. The Ford continued in motion and collided with a wood poke and then a dirt ditch near Riata Way in San Andreas.

   After the collision Mr. Munn was transported by ambulance to the Mark Twain Medical Center with moderate injuries.

Two small dogs on Hwy 99

  May 5, 2016 at 8:30 AM:  Two small brown dogs are reportedly running in and out of traffic on Hwy 99 near Bloss Avenue in Delhi.

   One dog was reportedly shaking. CHP is en route to the area. Be extra cautious if headed that way.

Car stuck on railroad tracks in Stockton

   May 5, 2016 at 8:25 AM:  A car is reportedly stuck on the railroad tracks at McKinley near Ash Street in Stockton.

       Emergency personnel are en route to the scene.

Big rig blocking Hwy 49

    UPDATE at 8:30 AM:  One-way traffic now at the scene.
