George Daniel Hunt of Angels Camp

   Born June 18, 1929, George Daniel Hunt went to his eternal home with Jesus on April 30, 2016.  He was 87 years old.

Life Tribute for Raymonda Lee Thompson of Murphys

   Raymonda (Raye) Lee Thompson was born on July 6, 1942 in Santa Monica and passed away in her home in Murphys on May 5, 2016. She was 73 and heaven is now her home.

Federal law enforcement officer arrested for shootings

   May 6, 2016: A 62-year-old Federal law enforcement officer was arrested today for the shootings at a Washington DC mall where two were allegedly killed and two others injured.

   He is also a suspect in the killing of his estranged wife in a parking lot on Thursday.

Bridge caving in in Farmington

   May 6, 2016 at 11:45 AM:  A bridge has been reported as caving in on Buckman Road and Hwy 4 over Duck Creek in Farmington.

   San Joaquin County road crews are being dispatched to the scene. CHP is en route.

Reward for name of dog torturer

Hard to  believe what this beautiful German
Shepherd pup must have gone through.
   PETA is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the person who most likely tortured this 1 year old German Shepherd pup and then dumped him on the highway in the Sacramento area.

   We are well aware that there are such insane people out there who torture animals, whether by poison or burning or beating.  They should be locked up with no hope of escape.

Urgency Marijuana Ordinance on May 10, 2016 agenda

   On May 10, 2016 the Calaveras Supervisors will meet to discuss and approve the Urgency Ordinance for Marijuana cultivation in the County.

Traffic collision on Obyrnes Ferry Road

   May 6, 2016 at 10:40 AM:  A traffic collision has been reported on Obyrnes Ferry Road at Old Obyrnes Ferry Road in the Jamestown area.

   CHP is en route. It isn't known if there are injuries, but be cautious if headed that way.

Joe Scarborough of Morning Joe shocked at racism remark??

   Rob Reiner was on the Morning Joe tv show and made the remark that "many racists are supporting Donald Trump."

   Joe practically exploded onset because he is a semi-supporter of Trump.  The best part of the picture is of Mika sitting beside Joe, smiling because Reiner had the guts to say it out loud.

   Reiner may never be asked back on the show.

Vandalism at Calaveras High School

   On May 5, 2016 the Calaveras Sheriff's Office responded to a call about vandalism at Calaveras High School in San Andreas.

    We don't have details of what type of vandalism was reported.

Arrest for Bikeriding under the Influence?

   On May 5, 2016 Angels Camp Police arrested Frank Donald Fiscus (34) of Angels Camp at Hwy 49 and Stanislaus Avenue.

   Fiscus was booked into the Calaveras County Jail for allegedly Riding a Bike Under the Influence, a misdemeanor and released with a Citation.

Overturned vehicle in Plymouth

   May 6, 2016 at 9:15 AM:  A white vehicle has reportedly overturned on Latrobe Road near Old Sacramento Road in Plymouth.

   No injuries have been indicated. A tow truck is en route. The roadway is not blocked.

Car vs Tree in Fiddletown

   UPDATE:  According to CHP this collision resulted in major injuries.
