Tea Party Split over Religion vs. Anti-Immigration--Crush each other??

   A very vocal Tea Party Patriots spokeswoman announced on TV that they were endorsing Ted Cruz for President at the CPAC Conference.

   Then a guy named Breitbart said HIS tea party is supporting Trump. One wing is the religious extremists (Cruz) and the other is the Gun Rights and anti-immigrants (Trump).  Who will win?  Will they crush each other?  We can only hope!!

Calaveras Cannabis Alliance workshop

   Tomorrow, May 18, 2016 will be the first workshop of the Calaveras Cannabis Alliance (CCA) following the new approved ordinance in the county.

   It will be held at the Mountain Ranch Community Center at 4 PM. The purpose of these workshops is to assist cannabis farmers with the monumental process of getting permits at Calaveras Planning.  Everyone is welcome.

   UPDATE:  The motorcycle rider suffered major injuries in this collision.

   According to the experts from TheUnion.com "When trees are actively fleshing out for spring, if you cut down trees, they can release pheromones that send a signal out that the bark beetles can detect.

     So, if you like Bark Beetles and want to see more trees die, just go right ahead and prune and cut now. If you don't want to spread them, wait until November. Ask the Fire Safe Council of Nevada County.

Rafting trips on Father's Day

  On June 19, 2016 (Father's Day) the public will have a rare opportunity to raft the Mokelumne River.

  Three raft trips will be led by raft guides from O.A.R. S. and proceeds from the trips will benefit the Foothill Conservancy and support its work to protect and restore the Mokelumne River and watershed.

Car into tree in Modesto

  May 17, 2016 at 10 AM:  A car reportedly left Hwy 132 near Rosemore Avenue in Modesto and hit a tree.

   CHP and an ambulance are responding to the scene. It is not blocking the roadway.

Truck on fire in Waterford

   May 17, 2016 at 9:45 AM:  A truck has been reported on fire behind a shed off Wellsford and Hwy 132 in Waterford.

   Emergency personnel have been dispatched to the scene.

Burglaries in Mokelumne HIll

  On May 16, 2016 a resident on Munoz Way in Mokelumne Hill reported a burglary had taken place.  The Calaveras Sheriff's Office took a report.

   Also reported was a burglary at the school on Hwy 26 in Mokelumne Hill. The Sheriff also took a report of this incident.

Another collision in Acampo

   May 17, 2016 at 6:40 AM:  A 2nd collision has been reported in Acampo, this time on southbound Hwy 99 at Peltier Road.   CHP is at the scene. It isn't known if there are injuries.

     Just an hour ago a collision was reported on northbound Hwy 99 at Peltier. Be extra cautious in that area.   The earlier collision was between a black truck and a red tractor and one person had major injuries.

Traffic collision in Patterson

  May 17, 2016 at 6:45 AM:  Three vehicles were involved in a traffic collision at Grayson Road and Laird Street in Patterson.

   CHP is at the scene. An ambulance is responding for what CHP is calling minor injuries. Use caution if headed in that direction.
