OPED: Candyrock gun club should be permanently closed!!

   After years of NOISE abuse by the 1500 + shooters who signed that they use the illegal Ebbetts Pass Candyrock Gun Club, its time to lock the gate permanently.

   The USFS have no ability to oversee the criminal activity that we hear goes on there. It is NOT approved as a gun range by the NRA, and the filth that goes into the river because of it, is sickening.

  May 18, 2016 at 5:55 PM:  A cow has been reported on Olive Orchard Road near Hwy 26 in Rancho Calaveras.

   CHP is responding to the scene, but be cautious until they can locate the owner.

Traffic collision on 6 Mile Road

   UPDATE:  A third CHP has been dispatched to this collision. An ambulance is also responding.

   UPDATE:  CHP reports that the woman and baby are uninjured.

Butte Fire Victims: Watch for trespassers looking for Morels

   Because of the fire here and in other counties, mushroom hunters are hitting it rich in their search for morel mushrooms, which they can then sell.

   They grow well not long after fires are out, so watch for anyone trespassing on your land. Some just can't resist looking anywhere.  Put up POSTED: No Trespassing signs!

   We were just told that Eric Kleinfelter, the murder specialist of California Fish and Wildlife, who takes orders from people like alcoholic, postal PTSD mental cases and other racists who threaten women

Sonora Pass open--also Tioga Pass cleared

  Caltrans hard work has made it possible to open Sonora Pass Hwy 108 today.  There was debris to clear and repairs to be made.  Tioga Pass in Mono County through Yosemite Park is also now open.

   Workers got it all done in time for late Spring travelers to enjoy the pass until next snow season.

White semi rear-ends farm equipment in Patterson

   May 18, 2016 at 12:20 PM:  A white Peterbilt semi has reportedly rear-ended a piece of some type of farm equipment on Hwy 33 near Stanislaus Road in Patterson.

   CHP is en route. There is debris on the roadway. It isn't yet known if there are injuries. Avoid the area if possible.

"All the Way" will star Bryan Cranston

   The new movie about LBJ, called "All the Way" will star Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad).

   2 1/2 hours of makeup and 3" lifts propel him into the role each day of filming. Should be a good one. It premieres Saturday May 21, 2016 at 8 PM ET.

Traffic collision on Hwy 49

   May 18, 2016 at 10:15 AM:  CHP is at the scene of a traffic collision on Hwy 49 at Fourth Crossing, Fricot City Road.

   The southbound lane is blocked. An ambulance is responding for minor injuries. Be cautious if in the area.

Car goes through fence and flees the scene

   May 18, 2016 at 8:40 AM:  A car reportedly left Camanche Parkway South near Wallace and went through a fence, then left the scene.

   CHP is en route.  This was a hit and run with property damage, apparently. A green Chevy pickup was abandoned at that location. It will be towed.

Don't send your cat out to be EATEN!!

Mountain lions are beautiful and
fascinating, but they are also hungry.
Protect  your pets! Keep them inside!!
   We live in the country and we all love it. There are wild animals here and we love that too, but we need to protect our domestic pets.  If you care, keep them inside.

   If you allow your small dog or cat outside, you are asking a mountain lion to carry it off and eat it.  Yesterday at Murphys Diggins a mountain lion was witnessed carrying off a cat into the woods. 

Deer on Hwy 49 in Tuttletown area

   May 18, 2016 at 8:10 AM:  Deer have been reported on Hwy 49 near Poppy Hills Drive in the Tuttletown area.

   Watch carefully. Put deer warning whistles on your front bumpers to protect yourself and the deer.

Injured Coyote on Hwy 4

  May 18, 2016 at 6:40 AM:  An injured coyote is reportedly on Hwy 4 near the Arnold Bypass growling at vehicles.

   Use extra caution until CHP can arrive on scene.
