Now the Elections department is counting again?

  UPDATE:  Correction, the Elections department is now counting the "regulation" petition.  The 'ban' petition has been thrown out as improperly formatted when
turned in.
     Rumors have been flying all day over whether the Elections department in Calaveras County is handling the petitions regarding cannabis correctly.

   They stopped counting at the end of last week and were ready to throw them out. Now we understand they are counting again.

Car runs off Hwy 120 in Groveland

  June 6, 2016 at 6:25 PM:  A car reportedly ran off Hwy 120 at Smith Station Road in Groveland.

   It isn't known if there are injuries. CHP is en route to the scene.

Angels Camp Main Street Plan meeting #1

   On Thursday, June 9, 2016 from 5:30 to 7:30 PM there will be a Public Meeting #1 to discuss the Angels Camp Main Street Plan.

   It will be held in the Bret Harte High School multi-purpose room.

No water on Dunbar or Linebaugh roads

   CCWD has issued an announcement that due to the new pipeline work, Linebaugh Road and Dunbar Road in Arnold will be without water service on Wednesday, June 8, 2016.

   Please plan accordingly.

Arrest for Heroin in Jamestown

   Around 1 PM on Sunday June 5, 2016 a Tuolumne County Sheriff's deputy made contact with Brian Armstrong, 33-year-old Twain Harte resident.

   Armstrong was apparently standing

Motorcycle collision in Coulterville

   June 6, 2016 at 12:30 PM:  A motorcycle collision has been reported on Hwy 49 at Hwy 132 in Coulterville.

  An ambulance is en route to the scene. Use caution if in that area.

Petitions NO GOOD??

   Unofficially, we have been told that neither the BAN petition nor the REGULATE petitions regarding cannabis in Calaveras County failed to follow paperwork procedures and are being thrown out by Elections.

   The Calaveras Board of Supervisors passed an ordinance approving cannabis
farming with permits.  That is still in effect.

Traffic collision at MarVal leads to disturbance

    June 6, 2016 at 11:30 AM:  A traffic collision has been reported in the MarVal parking lot in Valley Springs.

   CHP is now at the scene, where a verbal disturbance between the two began after the collision.  Be cautious in the area. No injuries were indicated.

James Leonard Williams of West Point

   James Leonard Williams was born on June 15, 1937 in Watsonville. He passed away on May 28, 2016 in San Andreas of natural causes at the age of 78.

CAL FIRE: Cut your trees down for LA water? Don't cut any tree wthout their inspection??

  If you think you are confused, you are not alone. First CalFire started sending people out to force you to cut down all your trees so that LA could have water for the twin tunnels.

   Now they send a press release that you cannot cut ONE tree down without their personal inspection.  Something is screwy in calfireland!!!  Who's running that outfit??

Vandalism arrest in Copperopolis

    On June 4, 2016 the Calaveras Sheriff's Office arrested Joseph Robert Leonard (29) of Copperopolis at his residence on Signal Hill Trail.

   Leonard was booked into the Calaveras County Jail for alleged Vandalism over $400, a felony.


Grand Theft Arrest by Angels Camp Police

      On June 5, 2016 the Angels Camp Police Department arrested James Alan Moser,III (38) of Angels Camp on Hwy 49 at Clifton Road.

   Moser was booked into the Calaveras County Jail on outstanding warrants for alleged Grand Theft, a felony and other misdemeanor charges
