Rockslide performs in Copper

   The Calaveras County Arts Council is presenting Rockslide on June 15, 2016 at the Copperopolis Town Square.

   This is the first is the summer series of Music in the Parks for 2016 and begins at 6:30 PM.

Calaveras Public Employee Discipline/Dismissal/Release??

      On June 14, 2016 the Calaveras Supervisors, if Chair Edson ever stops praying, will hold a Closed Session for Public Employee Discipline/

Gerald Osmer, Public Defender

   Gerald Michael Osmer was born September 21, 1946 in Watsonville, the proud son of the Pajaro Valley.

   He graduated from Watsonville High School and after graduation enlisted

Arrest at MarVal Shopping Center in Valley Springs

   On June 8, 2016 Calaveras Sheriff's deputies arrested Richard Reed Haight (44) of Valley Springs, at the MarVal Shopping Center in Valley Springs.

   Haight was booked into the Calaveras County Jail for allegedly Threatening a Crime with the Intent to Terrorize, Possession of Prohibited Ammunition, Stalking and Burglary, all felonies, along with Exhibiting a Deadly Weapon not a Firearm, Possession of Unlawful Paraphernalia and Fighting in a Public Place, misdemeanors.

President Obama: "I don't think there has ever...

   This morning President Obama was scheduled to meet with Bernie Sanders. We don't know yet just how that meeting went.

   What we do know is that President Obama has come out and publicly endorsed Hillary Clinton for President, saying "I don't think there has ever been someone so qualified to hold this office!"

Reminder to Cannabis farmers: Deadline June 30, 2016

   If you are already a cannabis grower or if you want to be you must register with the Calaveras County Planning Commission by June 30, 2016.

   If you don't they could come and destroy

Friends of the Fair meet

   Friends of the Calaveras County Fair will hold a regular meeting on June 15, 2016 at Camps Restaurant in Greenhorn Creek at 6 PM.

   They will be reviewing the Calaveras County Fair of 2016. The public is invited to attend.

Car runs off road near Summerville High School

   June 9, 2016 at 9 AM:  A car reportedly ran off Tuolumne Road across from Summerville High School and down the embankment to the creek.

   A tow has been dispatched to get the car about 60' down the hill. No injuries have been indicated. Be cautious if headed in that direction as one lane will be blocked while they retrieve the car.

Truck loses trailer in Jamestown

   June 9, 2016 at 8:20 AM:  A truck reportedly lost its trailer on Hwy 108 near 5th Avenue in Jamestown.

   Debris is all over the roadway.  CHP is en route to the scene, but be cautious if headed that way.

Car vs. Pole in Sutter Creek

  UPDATE:  CHP has indicated a new patrol car. We didn't hear that this was a CHP unit.  PG& E is working on the pole, which broke in half.
