Motorcycle crashes into fence in La Grange

   June 10, 2016 at 6:40 PM:  A motorcycle left Merced Falls Road in LaGrange and hit a fence.

   An ambulance and tow truck are responding to the scene. They are having trouble locating the party.

Car in ditch outside Lockeford

    June 10, 2016 at 6:35 PM:  A car that swerved to avoid a car that suddenly stopped in front of him went off the road and into a ditch on Hwy 88 at Nathelle Lane, just outside Lockeford.

   No injuries have been indicated. CHP is en route to the scene.

Crash outside Martell

   June 10, 2016 at 6:30 PM:  A vehicle crash has been reported on Hwy 88 at Sutter Creek Ranchos outside Martell.

   No injuries are indicated, but there is debris all over the roadway. Be cautious if headed in that direction.

Traffic collision on Hwy 49 in San Andreas

   UPDATE at 5 PM:  CHP has cleared the roadway.  No injuries were indicated in this crash.

Motorcycle crash in Stockton

   June 10, 2016 at 4:15 PM:  A fully dressed Harley Davidson Motorcycle has crashed just off Hwy 99 on Foppiano Lane in Stockton.

   Injuries are minor, but the Harley needs a tow truck.  CHP is at the scene.

Tuolumne County deputy fights fire with hose

     When Tuolumne County Sheriff's Deputy Yorston realized he was close to a call of a grass fire in Jamestown, he got there, grabbed a resident's hose and kept the fire at bay until fire crews and engines arrived.

     How many would go beyond the call of duty like that? Residents on 8th Street in James
town are very grateful.

Water line project continues in Arnold

   CCWD's water line replacement project will continue next week June 13-17, 2016 on Fir Street in Arnold.
  
    There may be some water outages during this time. Residents and businesses will be notified by signage and door tags.

Forest Interpretive Progam at Lake Alpine

   From June 18, 2016 through August 20, 2016 the Calaveras Ranger District of the Stanislaus National Forest is offering free interpretive programs at Lake Alpine Recreation Area and Wakulu Hep Yo Campground.

Jack Conklin of Hathaway Pines

Big rig hits wall and is on fire--Fatality

   UPDATE at 2 PM:  CHP has now stated that one person, possibly the tanker driver, has died in this crash.

New $440 million casino in Elk Grove

   The Wilton Rancheria tribe has announce that their plans for a $440 million casino at Grant Line Road near Hwy 99 on 36 acres.

   It will be next to a mall that is already under construction.  It will add over 2000 jobs to the Elk Grove area, plus all the construction jobs.

Shots fired in West Point

   On June 9, 2016 a resident on Smitty Lane in West Point reported hearing three shots fired and a car peeling out.

   No report was taken by the Calaveras Sheriff.

Fireworks reported in Mountain Ranch? Stupid??

   On June 9, 2016 at resident on Oak Ridge and Sheep Ranch Road in Mountain Ranch reported seeing aerial fireworks.

   Can anyone believe there are people THAT stupid out there?  The Sheriff took no report.

Camping in Altaville Cemetery??

    On June 9, 2016 the Calaveras Sheriff was called to the Altaville Cemetery on Monte Verde Street due to campers in the CEMETERY.

    They had apparently been drinking and became rude when asked to leave. They were arrested.

Joe Kernen celebrates 25 years at CNBC

   Squawk Box stalwart Joe Kernen celebrated having spent 25 years at CNBC today.

   He was congratulated by many, including Martha Stewart. Congratulations, Joe.

Burning Banned in Calaveras and Tuolumne counties

   June 10, 2016 at 8:55 AM: CalFire has just issued a press release that due to the EXTREME MENACE of destruction by fire to life, improved property or natural resources caused by critical fire weather and acute dryness of vegetation, all burning is SUSPENDED!!

   This is for Tuolumne County, Calaveras County, Eastern Stanislaus County and Eastern San Joaquin County.  It is signed by Josh White CalFire Unit Chief. Thank you, CalFire!!

White cow on Pool Station Road

   June 10, 2016 at 8:45 AM:  A white cow has been reported on Pool Station Road near Church Hill Road in San Andreas.

   CHP is en route to the area. Please don't tell the TROLL or his Gal Thief!

Car runs over Fire Hydrant in Groveland

   June 10, 2016:  Earlier this morning a car on Hwy 120 at Ferretti Road in Groveland ran over a fire hydrant.
 
   No injuries were indicated. The hydrant is being repaired. Be cautious of work vehicles in the area.
