Two traffic collisions in West Point

   At around 5:40 PM a vehicle hit the wall at the forestry station at Hwy 26 and Main Street in West Point and fled the scene.

   Then at around 5:25 PM a second vehicle hit the wall and an ambulance is responding to the scene. Not sure what the attraction is to that wall, but....

First Friday in Murphys Park

    On July 1, 2016 the Crystal Image Bank will perform at Murphys Community Park.

   The event starts at 5:30 PM. Dinners will be available for purchase beginning at 4 PM.

Traffic collision in Linden

   June 16, 2016 at 3 PM:  A traffic collision was reported on Hwy 26 near Linden involving  a Dodge pickup and a Toyota sedan.

    Minor injuries were suffered by one person. Tow trucks are responding to open the roadway.

Cheyenne Fire 100% contained

    The Cheyenne Fire near Camanche Reservoir, is now 100% contained.

   Firefighters kept it to 83 total acres, 2 trailers and 2 outbuildings lost.

Valley Springs continues to grow

   Although both Supervisor Edson and Kearney prefer more asphalt plants, Valley Springs is continuing its growth, adding a new Mark Twain Medical Center Clinic and a Dollar General Store soon.

   Both have been approved and projects have begin at the sites.  Hopefully the intersections nearby will be improved in time for their opening.

Angels Camp Victorian burns down

Firefighters efforts prevented the fire from spreading
to other property in the area. They are still on the scene
today,  investigating the cause.

   A beautiful old Victorian on Hwy 49 in Angels Camp burned down last night, horrifying neighbors.

  Windows popped in the Best Western next door. Fortunately no one was injured. The home was being remodeled at the time after being recently purchased.

UPS driver saves dumped puppy

We are very aware
that there are evil
people on the loose who
poison, torture and
dump poor innocent
animals!
   On June 15, 2016 around 5 PM a UPS driver in Hughson witnessed a car stop and drop a puppy into the street.

   The driver took him to the shelter and he has been named Biscuit. Adorable, he will be put up for adoption soon.

Collision in Ione

   June 16, 2016 at 9:55 AM:  A collision has been reported on Hwy 88 near Hwy 108 in Ione.

   It isn't clear if there are any injuries. A tow truck has been dispatched to the scene. The roadway is blocked so be extra cautious if headed in that direction.

Government feeds the government! Angels Camp City Council

   It's really too bad there is no taxpayers association to represent the citizens who are stuck paying for all the waste on which government spends. Angels Camp City Council meets

Smoke in Alpine County

   After speaking with a USFS spokesman we became aware that Alpine County has not banned outdoor debris burning.

    That is why residents of Ebbetts Pass may see smoke and report it, but no report is made if it turns out to be in Alpine County's area.

Collision in Farmington area

  UPDATE at 8:20 AM:  This collision has now been cleared.

Evacuations lifted at Camanche--Lawnmower caused

   As of 8 PM on June 15, 2016 the Cheyenne Fire at Camanche Reservoir was 50% contained and all evacuations were lifted. CalFire has stated that this was caused by a lawnmower.

   One firefighter suffered a minor injury and 2 trailers plus 2 outbuilding had been destroyed.  The total acreage remained at 83.
