Camanche Fire claims 1 home

   June 17, 2016 at 6 PM:  The Camanche Fire in Amador County has now claimed at least one residence and has grown to over 150 acres and is only 10% contained.

   Helicopters are dipping into the reservoir near the fire and dumping to try and stop the fire from spreading even more.

Missing hikers found in Pinecrest

   We just learned that the missing hikers have been located somewhere in the Pinecrest area. They became lost on Tuesday and hiked over 60 miles.

   Search crews are en route to the location now. We will update information as it becomes available.

Camanche Fire grows

   The Camanche Fire on the Amador county side of Camanche Reservoir on Camanche Parkway North near Ione is now 40 acres in size.

   The fire has come right up to at least one home, but firefighters were able to stop it before it reached the home.

National guard deploys two more helicopters for search

   The search for two missing Modesto hikers has intensified today. There are 70 searchers on the ground, plus 5 dogs.

   The National Guard has deployed two additional helicopters to aid in the search for the couple and their dog in the Dodge Ridge area of Tuolumne County.

Fire reported on South Camanche

   A grass fire has been reported on Camanche Parkway South at Pattison Road in Calaveras County.

   Avoid the entire area if possible. That's two fires at the same time.

Two car crash in Plymouth

   June 17, 2016 at 3:25 PM:  A two car crash has been reported on Latrobe Road at Hwy 16 in Plymouth.

   CHP and an ambulance are responding. Be cautious as many vehicles have stopped to assist the  injured.

Cow on Mountain Ranch Road

   June 17, 2016 at 3:15 PM:   A cow has been reported out on Mountain Ranch Road near Rocky Road above San Andreas.

   Be extra cautious until CHP can locate the owner, and please don't tell the TROLL or his gal thief!!

Another fire at Camanche

   June 17, 2016 at 3 PM:  Another brush fire has been reported at Camanche Reservoir, this on on Camanche Parkway North in Amador County.

  Fire personnel are en route to the scene. It is apparently close to homes. Avoid the area if possible.

"Wolf of Wall Street" lawsuit

   Looks like Leo may have to testify in the defamation lawsuit against "The Wolf of Wall Street" movie.

    DiCaprio did not write the screenplay or direct the movie, which was downright scary if you invest in the market.

Traffic collision in Plymouth

   July 17, 2016 at 1:35 PM:  A traffic collision has been reported at Hwy 49 and Hwy 16 in Plymouth.

   CHP, an ambulance and a tow truck are responding. Be extra cautious if in that area as it is blocking the roadway.

Jewelry stolen in Murphys Burglary

   On June 16, 2016 a resident on Fieldstone Drive in Murphys reported that a burglary had taken place and that jewelry and a tote bag had been stolen.

    The Calaveras Sheriff's Office took a report.

Burglary in West Point

   On June 16, 2016 a burglary was reported by a resident on West Point Pioneer Road in West Point.

   Cash had apparently been stolen from a strongbox. The Calaveras Sheriff took a report of the incident.

San Francisco man arrested in West Point

   On June 16, 2016 the California High Patrol arrested Jairon Eduardo Mendez (20) at Hwy 26 and Main Street in West Point.

   Mendez was booked into the Calaveras County Jail for alleged DUI or Drugs/causing Great Bodily Injury and Alcohol .08 or more Causing Great Bodily Injury, both felonies.   This might be related to the crashes into the fire station reported, but we can't confirm it yet.

Collision on Hwy 4

   June 17, 2016 at 11:10 AM:  A traffic collision has been reported on Hwy 4 near Canyon View Drive in Hathaway Pines between a grey SUV and a grey Ford Fiesta.

   No injuries have been indicated, but be extra cautious as they clear the roadway.

Suspect Employee Theft? Install Cameras!!

    A Pennsylvania couple has been charged with allegedly stealing money from the grocery store where they worked, and then winning $1 million in lottery money from that store.

   The owner had cameras installed which finally caught the theft and fraud.  Cameras work on both customer theft and employee theft, besides capturing criminals on tape at your home.

Search for two missing hikers in Dodge Ridge area

  Two hikers from Modesto and their dog did not return to their vehicle after leaving it for a hike in the Dodge Ridge area on Sunday June 12, 2016.

  Search and rescue teams, including dogs are searching the area, but have not yet found them or their dog. Several county agencies, including Calaveras, are assisting in the search.
 

House fire in Jamestown

      On June 16, 2016 around 8:30 firefighters responded to a call of a house fire on Buck Brush Drive in Jamestown.

   The home was lost, but other homes were protected next to it. Apparently the fire seems suspicious and CalFire is investigating.

   June 17, 2016 at 8:45 AM:  A traffic collision has been reported on Mountain Ranch Road at Lower Michel Road in San Andreas.

   CHP is en route to the scene. We don't yet know if there are injuries. Be extra careful if headed n that direction.

Arnold Rim Trail events this weekend

   Tomorrow, June 18, 2016 there will be a trail building morning (US Forest Station in Hathaway PIne at 8:30 AM, and on Sunday, June 19, 2016 there will be a guided sunset/full moon hike to Cougar Rock (parking lot at 6:40 PM).

   Also the association is proud to announce that they have received a grant from REI to create trails, increase signage and build infrastructure in the trail system. Thank you REI.
