Woman killed after falling out of vehicle

   July 12, 2016 at 7:15 PM:  A woman died after it was first reported being a pedestrian hit by a vehicle at Hwy 99 and Crows Landing Road in Crows Landing.

   Later police were told the woman fell out of a car before being struck and killed. CHP is investigating.

Pacheco Fire update

   As of 6 PM on July 12, 2016 the Pacheco Fire is 350 acres in size with no containment.

   Fortunately, no homes are threatened at this time per Cal Fire.

Stagecoach Fire now 20 acres

 UPDATE at 6 PM:  Good news! Forward progress in the Stagecoach Fire has been stopped at 20 acres. One trailer and one home have been destroyed in this fire.

Dog watches bear in Lake Tahoe

  People in Lake Tahoe are used to their beautiful black bears wandering around the neighborhoods.

   Apparently the dogs are too, because this one is just watching the bear stroll down the street.

No Smoking at Candyrock quarry

   We just confirmed that no one is allowed to smoke at Candyrock Gun Range, except inside their vehicle.

   This is in conformance with the new smoking ordinance within Stanislaus National Forest.

New Fire in Copperopolis/Stagecoach Fire

   UPDATE:  CalFire is trying to make sure resident on Stage Coach has left the house. Evacuations are taking place.

Pacheco Fire now 230 acres

    UPDATE;  A report was just turned in that there is a new start of fire off Hwy 4 near Horseshoe Road.  What is going on?

Calaveras Supervisors vote to put Cannabis regulation on November ballot

   On July 12, 2016 the Calaveras Supervisors voted not to approve the Regulation of Cannabis, but to put it on the November ballot.

   This means the county taxpayers will be forced to pay around $275 G's for a consultant for environmental impact.

Fire near Milton Dump/ Pacheco Fire

   UPDATE at 2 PM:  They have requested additional air attack planes.

  UPDATE:  Fire is about 20 acres now. They are trying to protect the house on the ridge.

Supervisor Wright knows the public doesn't trust the government

   During a discussion of the tree removal program after the Butte Fire, Calaveras Supervisor Wright told Brian Moss (Administration at county)  that the public does not trust the government. Duh!!

   He said that due to the distrust many people don't want their trees cut. He said some people are attached to their trees. This is true, and the government is a serious problem due to past actions in Calaveras County.

What kind of people move to Ebbetts Pass??

   The good thing mentioned about having a heart attack in Ebbetts Pass is that many doctors, firemen and policemen from other areas like to move here.

   The Ebbetts Pass Fire Department has the best record of survival after a major heart attack due in part to this fact, according to the county EMS board, who reported at the July 12, 2016 Supervisor meetings.

Overturned Jeep on Hwy 12

   July 12, 2016 at 9:30 AM:  A Jeep Cherokee has overturned at Hwy 12 and Southworth in the Burson area.

   No injuries have been indicated and it is not blocking the roadway. A tow truck has been dispatched.

Trailer tire on fire in Vallecito

   July 12, 2016 at 9:25 PM:  Be cautious in the Hwy 4 area of Vallecito as a trailer tire caught fire and fire personnel have been dispatched.

  No injuries were indicated.

Mr. Big Pot continues to make FOOL of himself

   Some people just cannot handle losing. Mr. Big Pot McmAnus (as he is well-known), continues to harass the Board of Supervisors and the public with his love of booze and hatred of cannabis.

    It's like an obsession, a very sick obsession, as he again came before the Supervisors on July 12, 2016 to complain. He makes a total fool of himself every time.

Trailer came loose from vehicle

   July 12, 2016 at 8:30 AM:  A trailer somehow came loose from a vehicle on Rawhide Road in Jamestown and rolled through a fence.

   No injuries were indicated. A tow truck has been dispatched.

Guinea HOG in the roadway

   July 12, 2016 at 7:50 AM:  A guinea hog has been reported on Racetrack Road near Rough and Ready Trail in the Sonora area.

   One person thinks they know who it belongs to nearby. Be extra cautious until the owner reclaims their guinea hog.
