71 year old camper missing iat Lake Alpine

       Rosalynn Saxenmeier was last seen walking away from her campsite at Lake Alpine on Thursday. 

   A search of around 100 square miles has failed to find the 71 year old. She has medical problems and can become disoriented. If you see her,  call 911.

Kitten set on fire at Sasketchewan Festival

   The crowd acted quickly when two people doused a kitten with alcohol and set it on fire at a festival in Sasketchewan, Canada.

    The kitten was quickly wrapped in a towel and rushed to a vet, where it is slowly recovering.  The creeps who set her on fire have been charged with animal cruelty.

Goose Fire in Fresno County

   As of 2:50 PM on July 31, 2016:  The Goose Fire is burning in the foothills around the town of Prather, north of Fresno and has burned 1500 acres since yesterday around 4:40 PM.

   Containment is only 5%, but so far no homes have been destroyed. Evacuation warnings have been issued for around 200 residents.  Smoke from this fire is drifting along the Sierras and into Nevada.

  UPDATE:  We've been told that they are seeing the smoke from the Soberanes Fire even in Nevada.  Josh White of CalFire says the Goose Fire is sending smoke our way too!f

Fire in Monterey County grows

  As of 10:50 AM July 31, 2016 CalFire reports that the Soberanes Fire in the Carmel Valley has grown to 38,007 acres and is still only 15% contained.

   New immediate evacuation orders have been issued for Tassajara and Carmel Valley Drive to the Tassajara Hot Springs. 2000 homes are still threatened.

   July 31, 2016 at 11 AM:  Bypassers have stopped to try and help an injured fawn on Tuolumne Road at Westside in Tuolumne.

   CHP has been notified.  Its wonderful to see there are still some people out there who care about the wild animals.  They should be rewarded.  There are too many people in this world who poison, torture, and otherwise abuse animals.

Corporal Injury on Spouse arrest in Arnold

   On July 30, 2016 the Calaveras Sheriff's Office arrested John Paul Fletcher (68) of Arnold near his residence on Castlewood Lane.

   Fletcher was booked into the Calaveras County Jail for allegedly Inflicting Corporal Injury on a Spouse, a felony.

Assault on an officer arrest in San Andreas

   On July 30, 2016 the Calaveras Sheriff's Office arrested Paul Dwayne Knaus (50) of Mokelumne Hill, at the Gold Strike Mobile Home Park in San Andreas.

   Knaus was booked into the Calaveras County Jail for allegedly Assaulting a Police or Firefighter  with a Deadly Weapon, not a Firearm, and Willful Cruelty to a Child, both felonies, and released on bond.

   The SF Giants play the Washington Nationals today at AT&T Park in San Francisco.

   July 30, 2016 at 5:50 PM:  A traffic collision has been reported on Hwy 108 and 5th Avenue in Jamestown.

  UPDATE at 6 PM:  The fire has now jumped the river. One home is nearby.

Fire in Monterey County continues to grow

   As of July 30, 2016 at 1:30 PM the Soberanes Fire in Monterey County is 33,600 acres and is 15% contained.

   57 homes have now been destroyed. Evacuations continue. The cause is still being investigated.

Hot air balloon crashes in Texas

   10 people taking a ride in a hot air balloon in Texas apparently died when the balloon caught fire and crashed.

    The FAA is investigating the cause of the fire.

What about the Bullfrogs???

   Wondering about the pond that appears to be drying up off the Hwy 4 bypass outside Angels Camp?

  We hear the City repaired the leaks in the Rolleri pipeline and now we wonder what will happen to the bullfrogs who live in the pond the water was feeding.

Collision on Hwy 49 in Jackson

   July 30, 2016 at 1:45 PM:  A collision has been reported at Hwy 49 and Argonaut Road in Jackson.

  No injuries are indicated, but there is debris in the roadway, so be extra cautious.

Three car collision in Clements

    July 30, 2016 at 1:40 PM:  A three car collision is  now being cleared at Hwy 88 and Liberty Road in Clements.

    No injuries have been indicated but be cautious as tow trucks and CHP are in the area.

Power pole hit and run near Don Pedro

   July 30, 2016:  A power pole was apparently hit and lines and a transformer are down on LaGrange Road near Hwy 59 near Don Pedro.

   La Grange Road will be closed until PG&E can come and clear the lines. Apparently the vehicle was abandoned by whoever ran into it last night.

Tree down on Poole Station Road

  UPDATE:  CHP has just announced that Poole Station Road will be closed for 6-8 hours due to the tree blocking the roadway.

Motorcycles down on Hwy 108

   July 29, 2016 at 4:40 PM:  Three or four motorcycles are reportedly down in the roadway on Hwy 108 at Clark Fork Road on the pass near the Dardanelles.

   CHP is en route. It isn't known if there are injuries. Gravel was reported on the roadway, possibly as a cause. 

Truck knocks down poles

   July 29, 2016 at 4:35 PM:  A big rig has reportedly struck some poles on Danaher Drive near Emereff Lane in Valley Springs.

    Several lines are down in the roadway. No injuries are indicated. AT&T, Comcast and PG&E have been notified. Be extra cautious if in the area.

Head-on collision in Tracy

   July 29, 2016 at 1:20 PM:  A head-on collision between a sedan and a pickup has been reported at 11th street and Banta Road in Tracy.

   An ambulance is en route due to major injuries.  Use extra caution as there is about 200' of debris on the roadway.

August is Adopt-a Shelter Dog month

   Friends of Calaveras Animal Services (FOCAS) is announcing that August is Adopt-a-Shelter Dog month in Calaveras County.

   There are many wonderful dogs at the Calaveras Animal Services facility in San Andreas. Come visit and find a forever friend to take home with you, and at a discounted price.

Roy Taliaferro of Copperopolis

   Roy Lynn Taliaferro of Copperopolis passed away at his home on June 24, 2016.

    He was 52, born on May 9, 1964

Angels Camp Council to approve new subdivision

    At the August 2, 2016 Angels Camp City Council meeting, the Gallery and Greenhorn Creek will get its final approval.

   This is the first development in Angels Camp in many years. You may remember that Mr. McHatten raised all the fees at least double at the last meeting intentionally to catch these people in the Angels City TRAP!!

Arnold man arrested in Angels Camp

   According to the Angels Camp Police Department, Robert Douglas Smith (54) of Arnold was arrested on Mark Twain Road in Angels Camp.

   Smith was booked into the Calaveras County Jail for alleged Willful Discharge of a Firearm, a felony and for Disorderly Conduct due to Alcohol, a misdemeanor.

Wilderness Week Events at Lake Alpine

   The Stanislaus National Forest Service will be conducting events to celebrate Wilderness Week at Lake Alpine this weekend.

Crash in Burson

   July 29, 2016 at 8:05 AM:  CHP is at the scene of a traffic crash between a silver BMW and a black Dodge Challenger at Burson Road and Southworth Road in Burson.

   One person mentioned that the BMW was seen crossing the double yellow lines before the crash. A tow truck has been dispatched. No injuries have been indicated.

Car overturned in field in Jamestown

   July 29, 2016 at 8 AM:  A car has reportedly overturned into a field at Hwy 49 and Sims Road in Jamestown.

   Major injuries have been indicated. An ambulance is en route. A search is ongoing for possible other passengers in the vehicle.

More homes destroyed in Monterey County

   As of July 29, 2016 at 8 AM CalFire reports that 41 homes and 10 outbuildings have now been destroyed in the Soberanes Fire near Carmel.

   Total acreage is 31,386 and is still only 15% contained.  The smoke from this fire can be seen in the skies of Calaveras County.

Hillary Rodham Clinton 1st woman President in US???

   Tonight, July 28, 2016 wraps up the Democratic National Convention with the acceptance of her party's nomination for President of the United States, Hillary Rodham Clinton.

   While many other countries have already elected women leaders, Clinton, if elected in November, will be the 1st woman President of the US. 

Traffic collision in San Andreas

    July 28, 2016 at 8 PM:  A traffic collision has been reported on Hwy 12 not far from the Calaveras River bridge in San Andreas.

   A pickup is apparently out in the middle of a field, 100' off the roadway. Three CHP are at the scene. It isn't clear if there are any injuries. Be cautious as they pull the pickup back onto the roadway.

Major injuries in Hwy 4 crash

   July 28, 2016 at 11:20 AM:  A car that overturned onto its roof was reported after a white Chevy Blazer collided with a big rig on Hwy 4 just west of the Middle River Bridge outside Discovery Bay.

    An ambulance responded due to major  injuries. Use extra caution in the area.

Fire in Calaveritas

  Per CalFire on July 27, 2016 around 6:12 PM they responded to a report of a grass fire at Calaveritas Road and Old Gulch Road.

    Called the Old Fire, air, engine units and hand crews were dispatched to the scene and the fire was extinguished at 4.4 acres in size.  The cause has not been determined.

   July 28, 2016 at 10:05 AM:  A car has run off Hwy 49 near Carson Hill and into the ditch.

   Emergency personnel are responding to the scene. Possible DUI incident indicated. Be cautious if headed in that direction.

Head-on traffic collision on Hwy 4

   July 28, 2016 at 9 AM:  A head-on traffic collision has been reported on Hwy 4 at Union Point near Discovery Bay.

    An ambulance and two tow trucks are responding to the scene. Lanes are blocked, so be extra cautious if headed that way.

Big rig dumps load on Hwy 88

   July 28, 2016 at 8:50 AM:  A big rig with doubles has reportedly spilled its load on Hwy 88 near Columbia Drive in the Pioneer area.

San Andreas woman arrested for threats

   On July 27, 2016 the Calaveras Sheriff's Office arrested Debra Lynne Dougherty (53) of San Andreas, at her home on Russell Road in San Andreas.

   Dougherty was booked into the Calaveras County Jail for allegedly Threatening to Commit a Crime with the Intent to Terrorize, a felony.

Bulldozer driver killed in Carmel Fire

      Two bulldozers rolled over while trying to carve a line around the Soberanes Fire in the Carmel area. The Governor has declared a state of emergency in the area.

   One driver was killed and the other escaped with minor injuries. 34 homes have been destroyed, 27,000 acres burned and now 1 fatality in this fire. It is still only 10% contained.

Plane crash at Columbia Airport

   It has been reported by authorities that a plane that crashed and burst into flames late Wednesday July 27, 2016, killed 4 people.

   The crash is being investigated. It landed and then hit a fuel truck off the runway. Attempts to save the people in the plane were unsuccessful.  The names of those who died are being withheld, but we understand it was a local Tuolumne County family.

Temps could reach 108 in Calaveras today

   The US Weather Bureau has reported that it is possible for the temperature in Calaveras County to reach as high as 108 degrees today, July 28, 2016.

   Be extra cautious; stay indoors when possible and drink plenty of fluids.

Calaveras Council of Governments

   On August 3, 2016 the Calaveras Council of Governments will meet at the Calaveras Supervisors Chambers in San Andreas.

   The meeting is scheduled to begin at 5:30 PM. They will be discussing our highways and transportation in Calaveras County

Fire in Carmel area 24,000 acres

   As of July 27, 2016 at 2:30 PM Cal Fire shows the Soberanes Fire near Carmel has grown to 23,568 acres and is only 10% contained. Hwy 1 remains closed in the area.

   2000 homes are under evacuation orders, 20 homes have been destroyed and the
cause is still under investigation.

   John Francis O'Neal of Mokelumne Hill, passed away in Sonora on July 22, 2016. He was 85.

Hit and run by Drunk Uncle???

   July 26, 2016 at 7:15 PM:  A man reported to CHP has his Uncle, who had apparently been drinking, hit his wife's car twice and then left the scene on Barron Ranch Road, not far from Black Oak Casino.

   CHP is en route to the scene. No injuries were indicated.

Motorcycle cop in collision in Escalon

   Three CHP units are at the scene of a motorcycle officer reportedly in a collision on Hwy 120 near Brennan in Escalon.

   An ambulance is responding but the officer is just limping some, per the report. The officer may be Escalon Police, but it isn't yet clear.

Tennessee company gets millions to remove trees

   At the Calaveras Supervisors meeting on July 26, 2016 the agenda has an item to approve a $9,775,000 payment and contract to Phillips and Jordan, Inc., a Tennessee company.

   This money is to remove the dead trees in the Calaveras County right-of-ways near road in the Butte Fire area.  CW Emerson and Sutton were local companies who applied and did not get the work.

  

Harley Davidson rider killed in Stockton

   A 39 year old man from Ripon died after his Harley Davidson motorcycle struck the side of an SUV on Mariposa Road in Stockton on July 25, 2016.

   He was taken to a hospital with major injuries but did not survive. His name has not yet been released per CHP.

  

Evacuations expanded in Carmel area fire

   July 26, 2016 at 7:35 AM:   The Soberanes Fire near Carmel in Monterey County is now nearly 20,000 acres and is only 10% contained.

  Twenty homes and two outbuildings have been destroyed so far. More evacuations have been ordered in the area.

Horse stolen in Douglas Flat

  On July 25, 2016 the Calaveras Sheriff was called by a resident on Main Street in Douglas Flat that their horse had been stolen.

   A deputy took the report of Grand Theft Horse.

The DOG ate it- in Moke Hill

   On July 25, 2016 the Calaveras Sheriff was called due to a dispute over a dog eating a document on Stevenson Street in Mokelumne Hill.

   The dispute was apparently over the replacement cost of the ingested document. A deputy counseled the parties involved.

  On July 22, 2016, according to a Sheriff's Press Release, Calaveras County deputies received a report of a burglary in progress on the 1800 block of French Gulch Road in Murphys.

Collision in Sonora

   July 25, 2016 at 3:15 PM:  A collision has been reported on Mono Way at Hwy 108 in Sonora.

   No injuries were indicated, but be cautious as CHP clears the roadway.

Major injuries at Lake Tulloch

      According to the Calaveras Sheriff, on July 24, 2016 at approximately 4:45 PM the Calaveras County Marine division responded to Lake Tulloch for a vessel accident with major injuries.

Drought and Bark Beetle damage in Calaveras

   A study done recently counted around 700,000 dead trees in Calaveras County due to the drought and then the bark beetle.

   If you have a dead tree you believe is on CCWD property, call 754-3543 to have an arborist come and authenticate it.

Overturned car on Mountain Ranch Road

  July 25, 2016 at 10:05 AM:  A car has reportedly overturned on Mountain Ranch Road at Gold Hunter Road in San Andreas, near the library.

   One person was trapped in the vehicle. A tow truck responded. Fortunately only minor injuries were indicate.

  July 25,2016 at 8:10 AM:  CHP is en route to the scene of a reported traffic collision at Hwy 104 and Castle Oaks Drive in Ione.

   At the Angels Camp City Council meeting on July 19, 2016 it was asked what the City was doing about the marijuana grows in the City limits since they banned it.

   The City Administrator Golf Pro answered "There aren't any (that we know about)!"  Very interesting. We are sure RELIGIOUS extremist residents will be glad to hear that!

Angels Camp needs younger GOOD Councilpersons

  Fortunately the three eldest Angels Camp City Councilpersons are not running for re-election in November. We need people who are NOT afraid to challenge the current Golf Pro Administrator.

    Kulm (the UN-elected mayor), Sobon (now 78)  and longtime councilmember Morris are not running again.  We need young people from the CENTRAL Angels Camp and Altaville areas to represent longtime residents fairly.

   Two crop dusters collided in mid-air on Saturday morning near Knights Landing, killing one of the pilots.

Traffic collision near Pinecrest

   July 23, 2016 at 11:50 AM:  A traffic collision has been reported on Hwy 108 near Old Mono Way outside Pinecrest.

   A small Audi is apparently on fire. Two CHP are en route to the scene, along with an ambulance and fire crew due to the fire spreading to the trees. Two men had gone across the highway and down a hill as if hiding something, according to one witness.

Appointed Sheriff DiBasilio begins his campaigning

   Today is the first of the newly appointed Calaveras County Sheriff Di Basilio to begin his campaign for election of 2018, which isn't far off.

Two collisions near Dodge Ridge

      July 23, 2016 at 9 AM:  CHP is investigating two separate traffic collisions on Forest Roads near Dodge Ridge. One allegedly seemed to have been drinking and covered the vehicle up with bushes.

   The other is a service vehicle for Lair of the Bear Summer Camp and is calling their own tow service. They are both just off Dodge Ridge Road and Dodge Ridge Loop Road.

Abandoned car at Camanche

   July 23, 2016 at 6:45 AM:  A red Camaro has been reported abandoned with its door open at Wade and Burson roads in Camanche.

Hit and Run in Stockton

   July 23, 2016 at 6:30 AM:  A man says he allowed a 23 year old woman drive his vehicle home from a bar because he had been drinking, and she sideswiped another vehicle and then pulled over onto the sidewalk in front of Lincoln High School in Stockton.

   She apparently then took off running saying she didn't want to go back to jail. CHP is at the scene.

Rollover on Hwy 99

   July 23, 2016 at 6:25 AM:  A vehicle has rolled over on southbound Hwy 99 at Morada Lane in the Lodi area.

Copperopoliis man arrested

   On July 21, 2016 the Calaveras Sheriff's Office arrested Kenneth Allen Uhl (79) of Copperopolis at his residence on Main Street.

   Uhl was booked into the Calaveras County Jail for allegedly Threatening a Crime wit the Intent to Terrorize, a felony, and then was released on cash bail.

Cause of the Baker Fire in Copperopolis

   Per Cal Fire the Baker Fire in Copperopolis, which has blackened around 60 acres, was caused by some type of equipment use.

   They are still mopping up this fire, but no further spread has occurred.

Baker Fire in Copperopolis

   The forward spread of the Baker Fire that was reported at Baker and School streets in Copperopolis just after 3 PM on July 21, 2016 was stopped by 5:30 PM with help from air and ground attack.

   At that time the total acres indicated burned was 60 and containment was 40%. Obyrnes Ferry Road was closed for awhile due to fire personnel in the area. The cause has not yet been determined.

   July 21, 2016 at 7:45 AM:  CHP is at the scene of a vehicle at Commons Road and Bradbury Road in Turlock that hit a telephone pole.  A woman  reportedly grabbed a suitcase and began running after the collision.

   The male passenger apparently stated that she had a warrant out for her arrest and had no drivers license.  The pole is leaning. A tow truck has been dispatched for the car. No injuries were indicated.

   Then it was nearly over and the audience realized he had not endorsed Donald Trump for President, and they turned on him. They yelled "Endorse" and then they booed him.  Yes, he was simply campaigning for his run in 2020.

  A 4.2 magnitude earthquake was reported in Hollister on July 19, 2016. No major damage was reported.

  It was located on the San Andreas Fault. Many aftershocks followed the main quake.

Motorcyclist hit by truck, dies on Hwy 50

   On July 17, 2016 as 4 motorcyclists were crossing Hwy 50 the last one didn't make it across and was struck by an oncoming truck pulling a trailer.

   The rider died at the scene. Hwy 50 was closed for several hours.

   The RNC just honored posthumously, two Ohio governors.  At first we thought that was odd, but....

Major injuries in Camanche crash

   On July 15, 2016 around 1:40 PM Kevin McAllister (50) of Valley Springs was driving a Ford pickup on Camanche Parkway when he lost control

Collision on Hwy 4

   According to CHP on July 16, 2016 Michael Robinson (58) of Mountain Ranch was driving a 2012 Toyota on Hwy 4 near Black Springs Road above Arnold at 55 MPH.

   Robinson felt the Toyota slightly slide out of control while traversing a curve in the roadway, turned the vehicle to correct the direction of travel and lost complete control of the vehicle.

   The Toyota veered to the right, traveling off the roadway and overturning.

   Both parties were transported to Mark Twain Hospital by Ebbetts Pass Fire with minor injuries.

   Alcohol and or drugs are not believed to be a factor in this crash.

Hauling PIne Needles into the woods

   The Calaveras Sheriff's Office received a report of a truck full of pine needles off Blagen Road that appears to be taking them to dump in the forest.

  One of the many scandals that follow Supervisor Oliveira around is his inability to handle basic problems, such as where residents can dump pine needles. We have heard many reports that they are being dumped in the SNF.

Burglary in Mokelumne Hill

   On July 17, 2016 a burglary was reported by a resident on Church Street in Mokelumne Hill.

   The Calaveras Sheriff took a report.

Burson PO Boxes broken into...AGAIN!

   Burson seems to have the worst time protecting residents' PO boxes.  Another report of break-ins was received by the Calaveras Sheriff's Office on July 17, 2016.

  Do they leave the door unlocked 24 hours a day or does the perp also break into the main office? This isn't clear.

   Just after midnight July 17, 2016 the Calaveras Sheriff's Office received multiple reports of fireworks being set off in the Burson area.

Modesto man adopts turtles

   Sacramento has been trying to find homes for dozens of turtles that had been abandoned in McKinley Park's pond.

   Now an almond farmer in Modesto has agreed to adopt them and move them to his pond in the middle of an orchard.

Car runs off Hwy 120 in Jamestown

   July 15, 2016 at 7 PM:  A car hit the bank and went down the grade at Hwy 120 and Old Priest Grade in Jamestown.

   An ambulance and tow truck are responding to the scene.

Man on Parrotts Ferry Road in Columbia

   July 15, 2016 at 6:05 PM:  A crowd has gathered around a man lying in the middle of Parrotts Ferry Road at Airport Road in Columbia.
 
   The Tuolumne County Sheriff's Office has been notified. CHP is en route to the scene.

Traffic collision on Hwy 4

   July 15, 2016 at 6 PM:  CHP is in the clearing stage of a traffic collision on Hwy 4 at Milton Road below Copperopolis.

   A Toyota pickup lost control and crashed and blocked both lanes. An ambulance and tow truck responded to the scene.

Per CalFire: Four fires caused by negligent cannabis growers

   According to a press release just issued by CalFire four recent fires were traced to negligence in marijuana farming operations.

   July 15, 2016 at 3:50 PM:  A car reportedly left Ridge Road and hit a tree in Sutter Creek.

Big rig losing pipes on Hwy 99

   July 15, 2016 at 11 AM:  A big rig has been reportedly losing pipe from his load on northbound Hwy 99 near Hammer Lane in Stockton.

   Be extra cautious until CHP can locate the rig and remove the pipe from the roadway. So far no one has been injured.

Man reports theft--gets arrested

   Just after midnight on July 14, 2016 Tuolumne County Sheriff deputies responded to a call at Black Oak Casino where Joseph Hankins (25) of Sonora claimed items had been stolen from his car.

   After reviewing video surveillance tapes, it was determined no one had entered his vehicle, but police allegedly found weapons and ammunition and methamphetamine on his person at the Tuolumne County Jail, where he was booked.

Vehicle theft arrest in Douglas Flat

    On July 14, 2016 the Calaveras Sheriff's Office arrested Bradley Ray Shaw (34) of Douglas Flat, at his residence on Main Street.

   Shaw was booked into the Calaveras County Jail for alleged Vehicle Theft, a felony and for Receiving Stolen Property under $950 in value, a misdemeanor.

Sonora man arrested for marijuana sales

   On July 14, 2016 Angels Camp Police arrested Jimmy Ray Pasley (28) of Sonora on Hwy 49 near Deer Creek Road in Angels Camp.

   Pasley was booked into the Calaveras County Jail for alleged Possession of Marijuana for Sale and Selling Marijuana, both felonies.

Vandalism at White Pines Park

   On July 14, 2016 it was reported that the restrooms at White Pines Park in Arnold had been vandalized.

   With a long history of drug sales and abuse in the area, its not surprising. The Calaveras Sheriff took a report.

Deputy accuses Sacramento Sheriff of sexual harassment

   Sheriff Scott Jones has had court documents filed against him and against the Sacramento Sheriff's Office by a current deputy. Jones, a Tea Party fave, is now running for Congress against incumbent Ami Bera.

   The allegations go back to when Jones was a Sargent and the woman deputy was afraid of losing her job at the time.  The filing is also against the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office.

Tim Tebow denies he's a RNC speaker

   Despite the report yesterday that right wing football player Tim Tebow will speak at the Republican Convention next week, he denies it.

   He says it is just a silly rumor and he has no intention of being a speaker at the event.

Traffic collision on Hwy 4

   July 15, 2016 at 6:15 AM:  A car that reportedly ran off Hwy 4 as a result of an oncoming moving truck in his  lane, hit a rock in the field near Poole Station Road.

   No injuries have been indicated, but watch for emergency vehicles in the area.

84 dead in France, two Americans

  A father and son have reportedly been found to be among those 84 who have died as a result of the semi attack in Nice, France.

   They are the only two Americans identified so far in this shocking massacre. The driver was apparently from Tunisia.

Terrorist attack in France

 It has been reported that  76 have died and dozens more injured after a large truck plowed through a large crowd in Nice, France.

   President Obama has already spoken, declaring it yet another terrorist attack, as the truck intentionally kept driving through the large crowd.

Vehicle hits tree in Jamestown

  July 14, 2016 at 4:15 PM:  A traffic collision has been reported at Campo Seco Road and Campbell Flat Road in the Jamestown area.

   One vehicle ran off the roadway, hitting a fence and a tree.  An ambulance is en route to the scene.

KIds jumping off bridge at Camanche

  CHP has been informed that some kids are jumping off the bridge at Buena Vista Road and Camanche Parkway South, on the Amador side of Camanche Reservoir.

   Use extra caution as CHP arrives to handle the situation.

Trump picks VP

  It was just announced that Donald Trump has chosen Governor Mike Pence as his VP running mate for the Presidential election of 2016.

   This was expected to be announced tomorrow but we assume Trump couldn't wait or felt someone would let it out of the bag early if he didn't tell the press.

Sean Hannity sends personal Jet for Gingrich

  Last night we heard that Sean Hannity of FOX is so worried that his boy Newt Gingrich won't be picked as Trumps VP that he used his personal jet.

   He sent the jet to pick up Gingrich and fly him to Indiana for a 2 hour meeting with Trump after Trump had breakfast with Mike Pence at the Governor's mansion. Friday Trump will announce the winner.
