Pacheco Fire 50% contained

  The Pacheco Fire, located near Rancho Calaveras,  is now 50% contained per CalFire.

   The total acreage is now officially 341 with no homes or outbuildings destroyed.

What are the most dangerous jobs in America?

  We often hear policemen state that they put their lives on the line every day. However, according to a study done by Time they are not nearly the most dangerous jobs in America.

   In fact, the most dangerous job is

Black Dodge vs. White Dodge on Hwy 4

   July 13, 2016 at 3:35 PM:   A black Dodge and a white Dodge have reportedly collided on Hwy 4 near Telegraph Avenue in Copperopolis.

   CHP is at the scene. A tow truck has been dispatched. Only minor injuries resulted from this crash.

Letter to the Editor: President Obama is wrong!

   Dear Editor: 

   I don't know how to say this, because I really like President Obama; but he's very wrong about the race issue in America.

Big rig hit and run

   July 13, 2016 at 1:40 PM:  A big rig driver reported that he was hit by another big rig which continued on Hwy 99 northbound through Ripon.

   CHP is en route to the scene. No injuries were indicated.

Major injuries in Patterson collision

  July 13, 2016 at 1:35 PM:  A traffic accident where a vehicle rolled over into the center divide at I-5 and Sperry Ave. in Patterson has resulted in major injuries.

   Emergency personnel are en route to the scene. Be extra cautious if in that area.

Load spilled on Hwy 49

   July 13, 2016 at 11:40 AM:  A truck has reportedly dumped a load on Hwy 49 near Hwy 26 in San Andreas.

   Be cautious if in the vicinity, as several vehicles are stopped.

Motorcycle crash in Jamestown

   July 13, 2016 at 11:35 AM:  A motorcycle has reportedly crashed on Willow Street in Jamestown.
  
   CHP is responding to the location. Be extra cautious if in the area. An ambulance is en route.

Sacramento man arrested in Angels Camp

   On July 12, 2016 the Angels Camp Police Department arrested Daniel Earl McElfresh (44) of Sacramento, on Dogtown Road in Angels Camp.

   McElfresh was booked into the Calaveras County Jail for alleged Possession

UPDATE:  This was first reported by a woman at 4:33 AM about someone showing up at the house

Traffic collision in Escalon

   July 13, 2016 at 8:30 AM:  A traffic collision has been reported on Skiff Road at Escalon Bellota Road in Escalon.

   The vehicle is in a ditch apparently covered in mud. CHP is en route to the scene.

Black Lives Matter protests Sacramento Supervisors

   At the July 12, 2016 Sacramento Supervisors meeting Black Lives Matter protested that the county Sheriff is apparently not as unbiased as he claims.

   The death of Adrienne Ludd has had the community upset and reportedly the Sheriff has not been forthcoming with information requested by the family or press. The Sheriff is running against Ami Bera for Congress.

  UPDATE:  We apologize to Mr. Poole, who was the person that Poole Station Road was named after. We will be more careful.

Pacheco Fire update

   The Pacheco Fire near Rancho Calaveras, is now 20% contained per CalFire.

   No homes have been lost. The total acres burned so far is 350.
