Calaveras Supervisors meet re: County Administrative Officer

   On October 11, 2016 the Calaveras Supervisors will hold a regular meeting in the Board Chambers in San Andreas at 8 AM.

   They will again go into closed session to discuss the CAO position, followed by Bully Supervisor Edson's prayers for evil women who want rights and if they have time, a regular agenda.

Vehicle in ditch off Hwy 108

   October 6, 2016 at 4:45 PM:  Minor injuries resulted when a car left Hwy 108 and ended up in a ditch near the Sugar Pine Cutoff.

   Be extra cautious as a tow truck pulls the car back out onto the roadway.
 

Injuries in Patterson collision

   October 6, 2016 at 4:40 PM:  A traffic collision has been reported at Hwy 33 and Hwy 132 in the Patterson area.

   An ambulance is responding to the scene. Be extra cautious if headed in that direction.

One dies in 6 vehicle crash in Escalon

   On October 3, 2016 around 5 PM five vehicles that were parked on the side of Hwy 120 in Escalon were struck by a big rig.

   The big rig ran over a Honda, killing that driver. Five others were taken to the hospital with injuries.

Arnold man arrested

   On October 5, 2016 Calaveras Sheriff's deputies arrested Casey James Martin (25) of Arnold, at Mark Twain Hospital in San Andreas.

   Martin was booked into the Calaveras County Jail for alleged Battery against a Peace Officer, a felony and for Obstruction or Resisting a Peace Officer, a misdemeanor. He was cited by the DA and released.

Clowns chasing children??

   There has been a lot of talk about creepy clowns on the news lately (no we don't mean Trump).

   Yesterday an 8 year old boy said he was chased all the way home from his school in Galt by two clowns.  Police have yet to locate these creepy clowns.

Elderly man and woman hurt at McCartney concert

   It was the first concert at the new Golden 1 arena in downtown Sacramento on Tuesday October 4, 2016.

   Suddenly a person fell from a balcony and landed on two elderly people below. They were injured and taken to the hospital.

Another cannabis denial appealed--Calaveras Supervisor Edson lies again!!

    The Calaveras Supervisors will hear yet another appeal of a denial by the Planning Commission for a cannabis cultivation site for Pitto/Daniels.

   Again, the applicant has to prove that they were cultivating at the site last year, in opposition to Supervisor Edsons' false statement that there has been no growing allowed before,

And the Wells Fargo scandal grows

  Now it turns out that at least 10,000 small businesses have become involved in the scandal and fraud at Wells Fargo Bank.

   Where will it end?  No one knows for sure, but if you have anything at Wells Fargo, you better double check it.

White Husky dog on Hwy 49

   October 6, 2016 at 9:45 AM:  A white Husky has been reported walking on Hwy 49 near Electra Road in the Jackson area.

   Be extra cautious until CHP can reach the dog and remove it from the roadway.

MIddle of the night crash

   At around 1 AM on October 6, 2016 a solo vehicle collision was reported on Hwy 4 near Obyrnes Ferry Road in Copperopolis.

   CHP was unable to locate the vehicle at first.  It is being recovered by a tow truck now. Minor injuries were indicated in this collision.

CCWD Special meeting--Director growing cannabis???

   Today, October 6, 2016 at 4 PM CCWD will hold a Special Meeting to discuss Director Terry Strange having applied to grow cannabis in Calaveras County.

  We aren't sure why this should require a Special Meeting. He has the right to grow just like anyone else, doesn't he??

Citations for burning still in effect--do not BURN!

  On Monday October 3, 2016 CalFire responded to an illegal debris burn in the Twain Harte area.

   After witnessing the owner burning trash and debris they were cited for burning without a permit.  It is still too dry to burn. Do not attempt to burn!!

Water line work in Valley Springs

   CCWD reports that due to Caltrans work on Hwy 26 at Vista Del Lago, they are required to lower their water lines.

   The intersection will be closed October 6, 2016. Residents are being detoured through Hartvickson to Silver Rapids to reach Hwy 26. Be extra cautious!!
