49ers put Kaepernick back in charge

   It's about time!  The 49ers have struggled in the first few games of the 2016-17 season.

   Now they've decided to put Colin Kaepernick back at 1st string quarterback immediately.

Hwy 49 one-way traffic

   CHP has advised that Hwy 49  near the cement bridge in San Andreas will be under one-way traffic control for the remainder of the day on October 12, 2016.

   This is in order to continue the clean-up after the big rig crash yesterday. They have asked drivers to continue to be extra cautious when in that area.

   At the Calaveras Supervisors meeting on October 11, 2016 the Auditor's Officer Rebecca Callen advised the public that they are being denied much of the grant

   It will be such a relief when Calaveras Supervisor Cliff Edson is gone from our County government.

   His bullying continues, as he blocked the camera while Jason Boetzer tried to honor his staff at Environmental Health for their good work.

  Calaveras County Environment Health Director is leaving Calaveras County for a job in another County.

   He was recognized by the Board of Supervisors for his admirable work with the county.

National Anthem singer knees while singing

   The first game of the Sacramento Kings in their new arena was started by Leah Tysse singing the National Anthem.

   Following the lead of 49ers Colin Kaepernick, she knelt while singing, saying it was the most patriotic thing she could do in support of the black people who are unfairly harassed and killed by police in the US.

First dog, Sutter Brown in critical condition

   Yesterday it was reported that California's first dog, Sutter Brown had surgery to remove masses in his intestines.

   Sadly,  it was indicated to be cancer and his prognosis is not good.

CHP arrest of suspect on Hwy 49

      According to a CHP arrest report from the Calaveras County Jail, Zachary Uriah Gomez (38) of West Point (address unknown) was arrested on October 11, 2016 around 8:55 AM on Hwy 49 near the cement bridge after a pursuit.

     Gomez was booked into the Calaveras County Jail for alleged Assault with a Deadly Weapon not a Firearm on a Police or Firefighter, Evading the Police with Disregard for Public Safety, Vehicle Theft, Possession of a Stolen Vehicle, Hit and Run resulting in death or injury, DUI of drug or alcohol causing GBI, Vehicle theft, Robbery, False Imprisonment with Violence, Assault with a Deadly Weapon, not a Firearm and Burglary, all felonies; and for Obstructing a Peace Officer and Elder Abuse, both misdemeanors.

Arson arrest in San Andreas

   On October 11, 2016 Calaveras Sheriff's deputies arrested Benjamin Thomas Roe (29) of San Andreas, on Gold Oak Ct. in San Andreas.

   Roe was booked into the Calaveras County Jail for alleged Arson to property, a felony.

Calaveras Supervisors hold Special Meeting

   On October 13, 2016 at 8:30 AM a Special Meeting will be held by Calaveras Supervisor, a Closed Session for Employee, Health and Human Services Director.

   It will be held in the Administrative Conference room at 891 Mountain Ranch Road. No other items are listed on the agenda.
