Collision in Sheep Ranch

   October 14, 20165 at 11 AM:  A traffic collision has been reported on Sheep Ranch Road near Armstrong Road in Sheep Ranch.

   No injuries have been indicated. CHP is en route to the scene.

NO smoking in City of Angels Camp????

   On Tuesday October 18, 2016 the Angels Camp City Council will hold a regular Council meeting at Bret Harte Theater at 6 PM.

   The City wants to enact a NO SMOKING ordinance in the City limits.  This should be an interesting meeting.

Evacuations in Lake Tahoe fire

   October 14, 2016 at 9:30 AM:  The Emerald Fire off Hwy 89 near Lake Tahoe, has burned 200 acres and caused evacuations of 500 homes.

   Hopefully the incoming rain will bring this fire, which was reported around 1:30 AM this morning, under control quickly.

Injured deer on Hwy 4 in Arnold

   October 14, 2016 at 8:15 AM:  An injured small deer is on Hwy 4 near Meadowmont in Arnold.

   Be extra cautious until CHP can arrive at the scene. And put deer warning whistles on your front bumper. They don't cost much and can save a life; yours or the deer.

CCWD has Board opening in District 4

    Calaveras County Water District has announced that due to Director Mills resigning due to his election to the position of Supervisor of Calaveras County, there will be an opening in District 4.

   Apply for this position at the CCWD main office in San Andreas by writing a letter of interest to CCWD's Board Clerk at P.O. Box 846 in San Andreas by October 28, 2016, which will get you an interview. District 4 includes Angels Camp and Copperopolis areas.
