Fire reported in Escalon

   October 19, 2016 at 12:30 PM:  A fire has been reported in a field at Hwy 120 and Yosemite Avenue in Escalon.

   Fire personnel are responding to the scene.

CCA meeting in West Point

   The Calaveras Cannabis Alliance is holding a meeting in West Point tonight at 5:30 PM.

   It will be held at the Blue Mountain Coalition at 364 Main Street. Candidates running for office in Calaveras County will be discussed.

Major injuries in ATV crash

      According to CHP, Maria Shaw (25), of Spain, was driving a Polaris ATV on October 18, 2016 at around 12:45 AM  in an unknown direction of private property off Hawver Road north of Doster Road

YES on Prop 56-Tobacco tax

The $ 2 per pack increase on tobacco products is one way to deter people from smoking, etc.

Sutter Brown returns home

  California's first dog, Sutter Brown, rolled in the grass and then lay down and went to sleep after coming home yesterday.

   He had massive tumors removed and his prognosis is not good, according to reports. At least he is now home with his family.

Another Cannabis denial appealed in Calaveras

   On October 25, 2016 the Calaveras Supervisors will hold a hearing on an appeal by Twini Farms represented by Stephen Dickinson, on the Planning Commissions denial of his commercial grow on a 2.5 acre parcel at 2385 Wagner Road in Railroad Flat.

  This is only one of many appeals the Supervisors are now considering for cannabis grows throughout Calaveras County.

Amador Supervisors meeting

   On October 25, 2016 the Amador County Supervisors will meet at 9 AM in the Board Chambers on Court Street in Jackson.

   We don't have a copy of the agenda yet, but will advise when we see it.
