OPED: Thank you Sheriff Kuntz--Old Racists never die! (They just smell that way)

   Even though the did not have much respect for our dead Calaveras Sheriff Kuntz, we do have to thank him.

   He did make us aware of who the dirty, no-good filthy cowardly, short, bushy-haired racist

Mary Rita Camptfield of Angels Camp

   Rita was born in 1919 to Irish Catholic farmers in Centralia, Kansas, where she lived with her 10 siblings.

   She also met her husband Ray

Bill Murray gets Mark Twain Prize for Humor

   Bill Murray was honored at the Kennedy Center and presented with the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor.

   David Leterman made the presentation. There were several fellow comedians who roasted Murray gently.  It will be shown on PBS later.

Fatal collision in Camp Connell

   Per CHP, on October 24, 2016 at approximately 4:20 PM John Paul Fischer (75) of Stockton, was driving a 2010 Toyota, which was stopped at the intersection of Meko Drive and Hwy 4, preparing to make a left hand turn

Burglary in Wilseyville

   On October 22, 2016 a burglary was reported on N. Railroad Flat Road in Wilseyville.

   The Calaveras Sheriff's Office took a report. No other details are available.

Pole struck in Pioneer

   October 24, 2016 at 8:10 AM:  CHP has received a report of a utility pole down on Hwy 88 near Raven Road in Pioneer.

   It appears to have been struck by a vehicle that left the scene. CHP is en route.
