Traffic collision in Rancho Calaveras

   October 28, 2016 at 3:55 PM:   CHP is at the scene of a reported collision on Hogan Dam Road at Vista Del Lago Road in Rancho Calaveras.

   No injuries have been indicated and it is not blocking the roadway.

 

Boulder on Murphys Grade Road

   October 28, 2016 at 12:40 PM:  A boulder approximately 2' x 2' is reportedly on Murphys Grade Road not far from French Gulch Road.

   Be extra cautious until county crews can get there to remove it.

Collision in Manteca

   October 28, 2016 at 12:35 PM:  A rental truck and another pickup have reportedly collided at Hwy 120 and Hwy 99 in Manteca.

   It isn't known if there are any injuries, but be extra cautious if in that area.

Truck in ditch on Hwy 49

   October 28, 2016 at 12:20 PM:  A truck has run off Hwy 49 near Jackass Hill and has wheels stuck in a ditch there.

   Two CHP and a tow truck are responding. It is blocking the roadway so be extra cautious.

      In May 2016 the Board of Supervisors, our county lawmakers, judiciously put into place an ordinance that stopped a land rush of would-be marijuana growers.

   This Urgency Ordinance carried both

Car into ditch in Burson

   October 28, 2016 at 11 AM:  A car reportedly ran off Chile Camp Road near Camanche Parkway South in the Burson area and into a ditch.

   CHP and a tow truck are responding to the scene. No injuries are indicated. Drive carefully!!

Trumps' starpower damaged???

   In case you didn't know that Donald Trump has a star on the walk of fame in Hollywood, it's true!  It is, however, a little damaged now.

   A vandal damaged the star and it will take several days to repair, per the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, who in in charge of the starpower on the sidewalks.

Traffic collision in Lockeford

   October 28, 2016 at 10:25 AM:  A traffic collision has been reported between a Ford Explorer and a black pickup at Hwy 88 and Jack Tone Bypass in Lockeford.

   No injuries were indicated and it is not blocking the roadway.

More arrests at harvest time for cannabis growing

   Yesterday October 27, 2016 the Calaveras Sheriff's Office arrested many more who were in the county harvesting illegal cannabis crops at the old airport in San Andreas.

   Some were local, but many were from out of the area and even out of the country.  Most of the crops are most likely harvested now.  If they are arrested and their crops taken, maybe the illegal growers won't try to come back.

Flooding on Hwy 99

   October 28, 2016 at 10:10 AM:  Caltrans if busy today with debris and road flooding. Hwy 99 is flooded and vehicles are reportedly hydroplaning through standing water.

   If you can stay off the roadways, you're better off today.

Tree down on Murphys Grade Road

   October 28, 2016 at 10 AM:  A tree is down on Murphys Grade road near the upper end of French Gulch Road in Murphys.

   Be extra cautious or avoid the area until a crew can clear the roadway.

Dog and pig on Hwy 49??

   October 28, 2016 at 8:50 AM:  Yes, a dog and a pig have been reported on Hwy 49 near Carol Kennedy Drive in the San Andreas area.

   Be extra cautious until they can be rounded up by CHP.

Two fatalities on Murphys Grade Road

   According to a CHP report on October 27, 2016 at approximately 3:10 PM Christopher Dunivant (29) of Angels Camp was driving at 1994 Chrysler eastbound on Murphys Grade Road just east of

Traffic hazard on Hwy 4

   October 28, 2016 at 6:55 AM:  CHP is responding to a report of a traffic hazard on Hwy 4 near Brice Station in Murphys.

   It isn't clear what the hazard is yet, but be extra cautious if headed that way.
