Hepatitis A contamination in Amador County

  In a press release the Amador County Environmental Health and Public Health Departments announced they are conducting a joint investigation in response to a voluntary recall of frozen Egyptian strawberries due to the possiblility of hepatitis A virus contamination.

   These strawberries were not distributed or sold in grocery stores. They were under brands Sysco, CH Belt/World's Finest and James Farms.  They were, however, distributed to schools in the area and have now been recalled. No cases of Hepatitis have been diagnosed.

Attempted murder alleged in Mountain Ranch

   According to a Calaveras Sheriff's Officer press release on November 4, 2016 at approximately 8:35 AM they responded to the 18000 block of Jesus Maria Road in Mountain Ranch for a report of a shooting.

Megyn Kelly now leaving FOX??

   In surprising news today, we learned that Megyn Kelly, FOX News anchor, has now alleged sexual harassment from boss Roger Ailes.

   Will she be the next to leave the network as a result. Ailes and Gretchen Carlsen, along with Greta VanSusteren, are already gone.

Car broken down on Paloma Road

   November 4, 2016 at 2:20 PM:  A car is reportedly broken down and blocking Paloma Road in Campo Seco.

   Be extra careful if headed in that direction until CHP can clear the roadway.

Car runs off Hwy 108 in Sonora

   November 4, 2016 at 2:15 PM:  A car has reportedly run off Hwy 108 near Mono Way in Sonora. Juveniles are apparently getting out of the vehicle.

   No injuries are indicated, but be careful if in that area.

Traffic collision in Oakdale

   November 4, 2016 at 2 PM:  An ambulance is en route to the scene of a reported collision on Hwy 108 at Richardson Road in Oakdale.

   Two vehicles were involved. Be extra cautious if you must head in that direction.

Alleged Battery arrest in West Point

   On November 3, 2016 Calaveras Sheriff's deputies arrested Stephen Sheldon Brodie (40) of Railroad Flat on Hwy 26 in West Point.

   Brodie was booked into the Calaveras County Jail for alleged Battery with Serious Bodily Injury, a felony.

   According to Angels Camp Police, on November 3, 2016 they arrested Christopher Thomas Benters (40) of Angels Camp on the Murphys Grade Road, just outside of town.

    The Calaveras Supervisors will hold a regular meeting on election day, November 8, 2016 at 9 AM in the Board Chambers.
