Power lines down in West Point

  UPDATE:  Per fire personnel and a tree removal company, power lines are down, but no fire has started at this time. Access is by foot only due to road blockage.

Collision in Jackson

   November 29, 2016 at 12:05 PM:   A traffic collision was reported on New York Ranch Road and China Graveyard Road outside Jackson as a solo vehicle crash.

   A tow truck has been dispatched. CHP is at the scene.

Clear-cutters' ties to Calaveras Community Foundation

Clear-cutting also forces innocent wildlife to try and
exist without habitat or to move into human inhabited areas.
    The SPI (Sierra Pacific Industries) company, who has been clear-cutting in Calaveras and other counties for some time now, promoting global warming, is tied to the Calaveras Community Foundation.

    They reportedly donate money to the foundation, and have just recently given them $2500. Many feel that donations made by SPI are to try and buy silence about their practices.  Many residents avoid organizations who take bribes from SPI.

Larry Wilmore not unemployed...

   Larry Wilmore lost his job at Comedy Central when they axed The Nightly Show.  He is now going to collect unemployment, however.

   ABC has hired him for a multi-year contract with their studios to do a variety of jobs.

Pig trespassers in Mokelumne Hill

   On November 28, 2016 the Calaveras Sheriff got a report of pigs that were trespassing on someone's property on Victory Lane, causing damage.

   The Sheriff took no report!  Perhaps pigs don't arrest pigs???

Would you trust Wells Fargo now?

  Wells Fargo Bank opened phony accounts for people to make themselves look good and charged them money for it. Now they are trying to force these people into arbitration to avoid lawsuits. They never signed anything agreeing to arbitration, but the banking judges are on their side.

   Other fraudulent business practices have been reported now at the Wells Fargo Company. Would you trust a bank like this now?  Can you trust the loan departments, who apparently have made people pay for appraisals not needed and other fraudulent activities.  Ask Elizabeth Warren!

No chain requirements on Hwy 4

   November 29, 2016 at 8:10 AM:  No chains are required by Caltrans on Hwy 4 this morning, but the roads in Arnold and above are icy, so be extra cautious.


Collision in Wallace

   November 29, 2016 at 8 AM:  A collision has been reported on Hwy 12 at Camanche Parkway in Wallace. CHP is at the scene.

   No injuries have been indicated. A tow truck is en route to the scene. Be extra cautious if in the area.
