Cal Fire announces Arbor Week Contest

   CalFire is announcing the annual Arbor Week Poster and Video contest for 2017.  CalFire encourages the importance of trees in our state!  HUH??? Aren't they the ones making us cut down and make our trees ugly???

  Anyway, all 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students can enter the Poster Contest, and 6th 7th and 8th grade students can enter the video contest.  The theme this year is Trees are Superheroes.  Ask your teacher to get your class involved.

Animal hazard in Farmington

   December 26, 2016 at 10:35 AM:  Some type of animal is on Milton Road near Sonora Road in the Farmington area.

   It isn't clear what type of animal, but it's usually a cow in that part of San Joaquin County.

CCWD continues pipeline work

   Calaveras County Water District (CCWD) is continuing work on the new pipeline in Arnold this week in various locations.

   Drive carefully and watch for signs.

Rollover collision in Copperopolis

    December 26, 2016 at 9 AM:  CHP is at the scene of a rollover vehicle at Hwy 4 and Obyrnes Ferry Road in Copperopolis.

   An ambulance is en route to the scene. Be cautious if in the area.
