Liars in our world

   In the past year and a half, the world has listened to one of the biggest liars in history. Even after the election, where people voted for him anyway, he continues to lie and lie and lie.

  Have you ever had a close relative, friend or neighbor be found out to be an unbelievable liar; someone you just didn't feel you could ever trust again?

Burglary arrest in Burson

   On January 6, 2017 Calaveras Sheriff's Deputies arrested Jason Andrew Baker (29) of Burson, at his residence on Arapaho Way.

   Baker was booked into the Calaveras County Jail for alleged Burglay (a felony) and for Obstructing or Resisting Arrest and Violation of Probation, misdemeanors, along with 2 outstanding warrants.

Car upside down in creek

  January 9, 2016 at 8:40 AM:  A car is reportedly upside down in the creek on Quartz Mountain Road near Gold Valley Road in Sutter Creek.

   An ambulance and other emergency personnel are en route to the scene.

Slide on Jesus Maria Road

    January 9, 2017 at 7:25 AM:  A mudslide has been reported across Jesus Maria Road near Kerstan Road in Mokelumne Hill.

   Avoid the area until county road crews can clear the roadway.

Hyundai on its side in Mountain Ranch

   January 9, 2017 at 7:15 AM:  A blue Hyundai is reportedly on its side against a fence on Hidden Valley Road near Cave City Road in the Mountain Ranch area.

   It isn't known if there are injuries. Be cautious if headed in that direction.
