Collision in Calaveritas

   February 11, 2017 at 4 PM:  A traffic collision has been reported on Calaveritas Road in Calaveritas.

   No injuries were indicated, but be cautious if headed that way.

We understand the Germans as Nazis but the Preston surname isn't German???

   Where does the racist Nazi DNA come into the Preston family name?  The name is not of German or Nazi origin, we don't believe.

Marijuana again on Calaveras Supervisors agenda

   At the very end of the February 14, 2017 Calaveras Supervisors agenda is the item to extend the Urgency Ordinance for growing medical cannabis for one year.

   Chair Oliveira says he's in favor of this, but we hear that secretly

Blackstone to acquire AON for $4.8 billion

   AON, the giant benefit outsourcing company, who was hired by AT&T to outsource their retirement benefits, is being purchased.

   Blackstone has apparently offered to buy it for $4.8 billion. 

Calaveras County still without leader in Building Department

   At Tuesday, February 14, 2017 Calaveras Supervisor meeting, the Supervisors plan to remove the hiring company it outsourced hiring a Building Official.

   They will return the duty to their Human Resources department. That company had apparently not been able to find anyone for the county.

McClintock calls cops to help him escape Town Hall meeting

   OUR Representative Tom McClintock called the cops to help him escape from a Town Hall meeting he set up with constituents in the Roseville area.

   There were several reports that he was referring to those complaining about him as ANARCHISTS!!  McClintock needs to GO!!!!

Meadowmont sinkhole now fenced off!

The sinkhole is larger  now and the
pavement is collapsing
  On Friday February 10, 2017 a fence company came and fenced off the giant sinkhole in the driveway entrance to Meadowmont Shopping Center.

   We asked the property managers how long before its fixed, but they don't yet have answers.  In the meantime the only entrance or exit to the shopping center is on Hwy 4.

Large boulder on Hwy 88

   February 11, 2017 at 10:10 AM:  A large boulder has been reported on Hwy 4 in Pioneer.  CHP is en route to the area.

   Be extra cautious if out this morning. The storm may be over but there is still some flooding and mudslides.

Chains required on Hwy 4

   February 11, 2017 at 10 AM:  Caltrans is still requiring chains on non-four wheel drive vehicles above Cottage Springs on Hwy 4.

   There have been several reported collisions due to icy roadways in the Ebbetts Pass area. Drive carefully.

Rollover on Hwy 4

   February 11, 2017 at 9:55 AM:  A vehicle has rolled over on Hwy 4 in Camp Connell, blocking the eastbound lane.

   CHP is en route. No injuries have been indicated.

Fog will burn off, sunny afternoon???

   We need the few days of sun that the weather reports are promising us.  Although its foggy now in Angels Camp and below, it is supposed to clear off and be sunny later.

   It is beautiful in Ebbetts Pass. Sun shining on the wet trees.

Car VS. pole at Calaveras High School

   February 11, 2017 at 8:30 AM:  A Mazda has reportedly run into a yellow pole at Calaveras High School in San Andreas.

   A tow truck is en route to the scene. No injuries have been indicated.

Pickup runs off Hwy 4 at Big Trees
