Staggering pedestrian on Hwy 26

   March 6, 2017 at 3:45 PM:  CHP has received a report of a pedestrian staggering on Hwy 26 near Woodhouse Mine Road in West Point.

   The Calaveras Sheriff's Office is sending a deputy.  Possibility of having been drinking was indicated.

Hazard in center divide in Jamestown

   A quad with several people in it are reportedly cutting down a tree in the center divide on Hwy 108 at the Rock Shop.

    CHP is en route to the area.

Worker hits gas line in Gustine-Fire

   March 6, 2017 at 1:15 PM:  A construction worker hit a gas line on Plaza Drive near Hwy 33 in Gustine and it is on fire.

   The immediate area is being evacuated. Plaza Drive is completely blocked.

Hit and run at Altaville Post Office

    March 6, 2017 at 1:10 PM:  A car reportedly hit another car on Hwy 49 at the Altaville Post Office and fled the scene.

   CHP is en route to the scene. No injuries are indicated, but the vehicle has quite a bit of damage.

Calaveras Supervisors Special Meeting // Closed Session

  On Tuesday, March 7, 2017 the Calaveras Supervisors will hold a Special Meeting with Closed Session at 9 AM to discuss the hiring of a CAO and an Environment Health Department head.

    No other items other than closed session are listed.  It will be held in the Library Conference Room on Gold Hunter Road in San Andreas.

   On April 22, 2017 from 9 AM to 3 PM the Calaveras Genealogical Society will hold its Spring Seminar at the Good Samaritan Church on Baldwin in Valley Springs.

Valley Springs woman arrested: Alleged intent to terrorize!!

   On February 28, 2017 the Calaveras Sheriff's office arrested Charlene Marie King (47) of Valley Springs at her residence on Sequoia Avenue.

    King was booked into the Calaveras County Jail for allegedly Threatening a Crime with the Intent to Terrorize and Robbery, both felonies.

Rollover near Camanche

   March 6, 2017 at 10 AM:  A grey vehicle has rolled over at Camanche Parkway and Liberty Road on the Amador County side of the lake.

   It isn't known if there are injuries. Slow down and drive carefully to avoid collisions.

Caltrans grader vs. vehicle on Hwy 88

   March 6, 2017 at 9:30 AM:  A Caltrans grader and a vehicle have reportedly collided on Hwy 88 near Peddler Hill.

    No injuries have been indicated. CHP is at the scene.

Collision in San Andreas

   March 6, 2017 at 9 AM:  A small pickup and an SUV collided at Hwy 49 and Hwy 12 in San Andreas.

   Both vehicles ended up off the roadway. CHP is at the scene. A tow truck is en route. No injuries were indicated.

CCWD lifts 'boil water' notice

   Around 1000 CCWD customers in Meadowmont subdivision in Arnold have had a week both without any water and with a 'boil water' restriction.

   As of March 6, 2017 the 'boil water' restriction is now lifted.

Seven want to be Miss Calaveras

    On May 18, 2017 a new Miss Calaveras will be crowned at the Calaveras County Fair.

   Those who have signed up to become Miss Calaveras this year are:  Jillian Baker, Dacey Behm, Annie Curtis, Victoria Fischer, Shaelyn Hamari, Presley Jenkins and Nichole Piper.
