Traffic collision on Hwy 4

   May 5, 2017 at 2:30 PM:  CHP are at the scene of a traffic collision on Hwy 4 at Milton Road, below Copperopolis.

   No injuries have been reported, but be cautious while CHP clears the scene.

Head-on Collision in Fiddletown

   May 5, 2017 at 12 Noon:  A head-on collision has been reported on Fiddeltown Road at Quartz Mountain Road in Fiddletown.

    An ambulance is en route to the scene. Avoid the area if possible.

Calaveras still green in May

   We have been very fortunate this year to get a lot of rain and our beautiful foothills is showing off with its green hills and valleys.

    Can't remember the last May 5 when everything was still so green.  Fire season will be delayed a little, hopefully.

Big rig collision on Obyrnes Ferry Road

   May 5, 2017 at 10:45 AM:  A big rig who was reportedly in the wrong lane hit a car on Obyrnes Ferry Road at Old Obyrnes Ferry Road on the Tuolumne County side of the bridge.

   CHP and a tow truck are en route. No injuries were indicated.

   The Calaveras Fish and Game Commission appears to be run by people who like to hunt

Calaveras Sheriff buys Night Vision Goggles, camouflage suits

   The Calaveras Sheriff is requesting the Calaveras Supervisors to give them another $60,000 to buy Night Vision Goggles, Camouflage suits, and other tactical equipment.

   Since the Sheriff considers cannabis the most horrendous crime in the county, this must be what all this stuff is being used for. The Supes will approve this. They approve anything the department wants.

  

  

Transitional Living for Mentally ill near Red Apple

   On May 9, 2017 the Calaveras Supervisors will approve a transitional living space for a maximum of 6 people in the A-frame below the Red Apple for mentally ill patients.

   Thomas Larry Collum of Crossroads Transitional Living will receive $50,000 to remodel with proper bathrooms and $ 6,000 per month rent for the property.

Calaveras Supervisors buy MORE satellite images

   On Tuesday May 9, 2017 the Calaveras Supervisors will hold a regular meeting to approve buying more satellite imagery of residents of Calaveras County.

  The cost of this service is $53,000. Why are they buying this?  Is it just for cannabis, which they plan to ban soon??  Isn't that a total waste of our tax money?? Or do they plan to use it just to spy on innocent taxpayers for fun?? Hmmmm!

   May 5, 2017 at 7:50 AM:  A cow has been reported on the edge of Obyrnes Ferry Road near Copper Cove Drive in Copperopolis.

   Be cautious until animal control can locate the owner and get it off the roadway.

Car runs off Sheep Ranch Road

   May 5, 2017 at 7 AM:  A car has reportedly run off Sheep Ranch Road between Sheep Ranch and Mountain Ranch.

   It isn't yet known if there are injuries. CHP is en route to the scene.
