   UPDATE:  Fortunately, injuries in this collision were minor.

One dies in collision with tree

   May 19, 2017 at 6 PM:  One person has apparently died in a vehicle collision with a tree at Ospital Road and Southworth Road in Burson.

         Three CHP are currently at the scene. The coroner has been notified. There is one other person who was in the vehicle. An ambulance is en route.

Trumpers still love him???

   We all need to remember why Trumpers are Trumpers!  Some wonder why they still defend him, even though the evidence points to impeachment.

   Just remember that the reason they love him is become he is loyal to the Klan, so they do not care what other bad things he does!

   According to CHP on May 19, 2017 at approximately 10:25 AM Ronald Torchia  (52) of Columbia was driving a 2007 Ford on Hwy 4 east of Stallion Way, below Angels Camp

FOX News fires Bob Beckel

   The only liberal commentator left at FOX, as far as we could tell was Bob Beckel, longtime Democratic strategist and member of The Five show, which replaced O'Reilly.

   He was apparently fired today, supposedly for making racially insensitive remarks.

ATV collision in Columbia

   May 19, 2017 at 2:30 PM:  An ATV has reportedly crashed on Bennett Road and Vine Spring Road in the Columbia area.

   An ambulance and CHP are en route to the scene.

Trump calls FBI Director a "Nut job"?

   It was reported today that while talking to the Russians, Trump called Comey a "Nut job" and assured them that pressure would be off now?

   Trump is on his way to Saudi Arabia aboard our Air Force I.  Now the talk is to possible take the nuclear commands from Trumps hands.  Everyone seems to know who the "nut job" is.

Crash on Hwy 4--One fatality

   UPDATE at 11:10 AM:  One person is apparently a fatality in this collision.  CHP has cleared the roadway.

UPDATE:  Hwy 4 is blocked at this location. Tow trucks and an air ambulance are en route. Avoid the area.

Wire down on Hwy 26

   May 19, 2017 at 9:45 AM:  A wire has been reported down on Hwy 26 at Escalon Bellota Road in the Linden area.

   Be extra cautious if headed that way until CHP can get it removed.

School bus crash on March Lane in Stockton

   Several children were injured when a school bus was hit by a vehicle at March Lane and Fred Russo Drive in Stockton.

    Apparently there is a question of whether the signals were working properly.

CHP: DUI causes major injury crash in Mokelumne Hill

   According to CHP on May 19, 2017 at 1 AM Christopher Lane (21) of Hayward was driving a 2013 Ford Mustang on Independence at a high rate of speed. Noah Tidwell (19)

Car vs. pole in Sonora

   May 19, 2017 at 9 AM:  A vehicle struck a pole at Shaws Flat Road and Elk Drive in Sonora and wires are reportedly down.

   Sonora Police are responding. Avoid the area if possible.

Small black dog at Hwy 4 and Hwy 99

   May 19, 2017 at 8:45 AM:  A small black dog has been reported at Hwy 99 and Hwy 4, the Farmington exit in Stockton.

   Be extra cautious until CHP can have it removed from the roadway.

Calaveras Supervisors to appoint new Building Chief

   On Tuesday May 23, 2017 the Calaveras Supervisors will meet to approve the appointment of a new Building Department head for the county.

   Ed Short is the decision the Board made in Closed Session for the position.

Arrest for Vehicle Theft

   On May 18, 2017 Calaveras Sheriff's deputies arrested Kevin Wesley Smith (51) of Valley Springs at his residence on Toyon Circle.

   Smith was booked into the Calaveras County Jail for alleged Vehicle Theft and Possession of a Stolen Vehicle, both felonies and for a warrant for Violation of Probation, a misdemeanor, and was released on bond.
