Pro-ISIS Team System DZ hacked Calaveras??

   At around 8 AM on June 28, 2017 it was reported that the Calaveras County website, including the Calaveras Sheriff's Office had been hacked.

   The pro-ISIS Team System DZ claims responsibility for the hack.  HUH????? The entire county website has been down since 8 AM.

Alaska's Brooks Falls Bear Cam up and running

   For those who love bears and Alaska, the wait for the live bear cam to come online at Brooks Falls is over.

   There was only one bear there when we last checked, but friends will be joining him soon.  Enjoy it whenever you get a chance while the salmon are running.

Hit and Run in Murphys

   June 28, 2017 at 6:05 PM:  CHP is at the scene of a reported hit and run on Hwy 4 near Pennsylvania Gulch Road in Murphys.

  No injures have been indicated.

Calaveras Ranger Station reopens all forest roads

   Just in time for the 4th of July weekend, the National Forest Service has been able to reopen all roads in the Calaveras Ranger Station area.

    They are warning those who travel on them to drive slowly, watching for damage in those roads due to the winter storms.

Calaveras County website hacked!!

   We just received information from the Calaveras Sheriff's Office that the entire county website has been hacked.

Tree down in Mountain Ranch

   June 28, 2017 at 1:30 PM:  A tree has been reported down on Armstrong Road near Cunningham Road in Mountain Ranch, blocking the entire roadway.

   CHP is en route and Calaveras County roads has been notified. Be cautious if in that area.

Bernie Sanders wife involved in fraud investigation

   According to Bernie Sanders, his wife is part of the investigation into fraud involving a college she was once involved with.

   Sanders says his wife did not commit any fraud, but they have hired an attorney to represent her in the matter.

Gas line hit in Turlock

   Turlock Fire Department is at the scene of a large gas leak just off Hwy 99 at Monte Vista near the Lowe's in Turlock.

   The party who reported the leak apparently hit the gas line accidentally while working.  CHP is conducting traffic control in the area.

Music in the Parks at Utica

   On Wednesday June 28, 2017 Calaveras Arts Council presents their Music in the Parks series at Utica Park in Angels Camp.

   Performing will be Random Strangers from 6:30 to 8 PM.  It's FREE!

Stockton police involved in crash--Other driver dies!

      June 28, 2017:  Two Stockton Police were involved in a crash after chasing a suspect earlier this morning.  The driver of the other vehicle involved has died.

    The collision occurred at Martin Luther King Boulevard and Airport Way, near the San Joaquin County Fairgrounds. Both officers were transported to the hospital with minor to moderate injuries.

Traffic collision in Linden

   June 28, 2017 at 10 AM:  A traffic collision has been reported on Hwy 26 and Duncan Road in Linden.

  CHP and an ambulance is responding. Be extra cautious if headed that way.

Frogtown looking for liquor concessions

 The 39th Agricultural Association that runs the 71 acre Frogtown and the Calaveras County Fair is looking for people interested in an RFP for being an alcohol vendor for two years.
