Big rig dangles off I-5

   A big rig swerved to avoid hitting a pickup on I-5 around 5:45 AM today and ended up with the cab dangling off the edge.

   The trailers blocked three lanes of traffic during the morning rush in Stockton near Pershing
Avenue.

Hit and run in Arnold

   December 5, 2017 at 1 PM:  A hit and run was reported by a vehicle who said another car was chasing them on Blagen Road and then struck them and left the scene.

   CHP is responding to the scene. No injuries have been indicated.

Fire in Ventura County explodes

  December 5, 2017 at 9 AM this morning the Thomas Fire, which was reported around 6:30 PM on December 4, 2017 is 45,000 acres.

   Massive evacuations are taking place, all schools are closed and Hwy 150 and Hwy 33 are closed in the area. So far, 150 homes are reportedly destroyed.

Jeannette Willard of West Point

   An essence of kindness, a spirit of Christmas, has passed. On November 28, 2017 Jeannette Willard died at her forest home of 40 years in West Point.

Trees blow out power in Ebbetts Pass

   A total of 27 trees went down in Calaveras County, mostly dead bug trees.  7 went down in Arnold on Blagen Road and the power was out for about 2 hours.

   Calaveras Supervisor Chair recognized the Road department at the Board meeting on December 5, 2017, for quickly removing the trees from the roadways.

Stolen car recovered in West Point pursuit

   On December 1, 2017 around 6 PM a suspect fled a traffic stop and was later located on Sawyer Road in West Point.

Spike strips catch Calaveras deputy in San Andreas

   On December 1, 2017 at approximately 11:30 PM the Calaveras Sheriff's Office pursued a BMW with expired plates, which headed east on Hwy 26.
