Motorcycle collision in Copperopolis

   April 10, 2019 at 2:45 PM:  A motorcycle collision has been reported on Rock Creek Road in Copperopolis.

   It isn't known if there are injuries. Authorities are responding to the scene.

Thomas Gilbeau, contractor

   Thomas A. Gilbeau was born on July 2, 1951 to Frank Gilbeau and Ruth Sifers, where he grew up on a ranch in Circle XX.

   He passed away on April 4, 2019  in Sonora at the age of 67.  He attended San Andreas Elementary and graduated from Calaveras High

CCWD aggressively flushing West Point water

  The unusual color and odor that has been present in the West Point water system is being addressed by CCWD by flushing the system.

   CCWD says there is nothing harmful in the water, although it may be aesthetically displeasing.

Woman found dead in car

   On April 8, 2019 around 2:40 AM Stanislaus County Sheriff deputies responded to a report of a woman in a car on the side of Milton Road near Hwy 4 in the Farmington area.

   Authorities are looking for the man she was living with in Stockton.

Chamber of Commerce loses its Exec

   The Calaveras County Chamber of Commerce has announced that their Executive Director Staci Johnson is leaving the organization.

   Johnson has been extremely successful in improving the image of the Chamber during her tenure.  She is taking a job with the Calaveras Mariposa Community Action Agency.
