New CAO to take over in Calaveras County

   As has been the usual custom every year or so, Calaveras County Supervisors are planning to appoint yet another CAO to run

ATV rollover in West Point

   April 12, 2019 at 3 PM:  An ATV has reportedly rolled over on Hidden Valley Road at Winton Road in the West Point area.

   It is on the roadway, apparently unoccupied. No other details have been given. CHP is responding to the scene.

Calaveras Supervisors assign Butte money

   At the Calaveras Supervisors meeting on April 16, 2019 the Butte Fire settlement money will be divvied up, with $13,450,000 assigned to fix roads withing the Butte Fire footprint.

   Public Works will receive the money after approval by the BOS, and will oversee the implementation of the repairs for several years.


Traffic collision on Hwy 4

  April 12, 2019 at 2 PM:  A traffic collision has been reported on Hwy 4 at Red Tail Hawk Road in Arnold.

   No injuries were indicated and it is not now blocking the roadway. Some type of government vehicle was apparently involved.

   April 11, 2019 at 11:15 AM:  A tent has been reported on Venado Drive in Arnold.

   The owner has not yet been located.
