Final total of homes burned in Santa Cruz Mountains (CZU) fire

   It took a long time to figure out and count all of the homes burned in the big Santa Cruz Mountains Fire.

   The final count is 911.   Sad, but true. The redwoods are not as resistant to fire as some believed.

    April 8, 2024 at 12:15 PM:  A traffic collision has been reported on Hwy 4 at Forest Meadows Drive in Murphys.

   Two vehicles and a dog were involved. An ambulance is responding. The dog did not survive. Three vehicles are involved.

    April 3, 2024 at 9:40 AM:  A rock slide has been reported on Hwy 49 near Big Bar Road outside Mokelumne Hill.
