July 5, 2013: The murder trial of George Zimmerman is about to resume this morning, and it is possible that we will see Trayvon Martins mother, as well as the medical examiner, testify today.
On Wednesday, we heard testimony that Trayvon Martin's DNA was not on the gun, even though George Zimmerman had told police he wrestled it away from Martin.
One very strange moment in Wednesday's testimony was when a man who had been a teacher of George Zimmermans and who said, "Hi George", stated that a person doesn't have to be near death before they shoot someone in self defense.
When hearing this, George Zimmerman burst out laughing, in spite of the fact that this is a murder trial and that the mother of the boy he killed was sitting nearby. This is just about as inappropriate as the knock-knock joke of his defense attorney.
This could make it appear to the jury that the defendant isn't even taking his case seriously. We'll have to see what happens today, as the State is nearing the end of its case.
