Angels Camp was home to the first Frog Jump in 1928. That unique celebration spurred an annual event that takes place the third week in May as part of the Calaveras County Fair and Jumping Frog Jubilee.
Today the City of Angels Camp boasts a Frog Hop of Fame. Every winner since 1928 has a plaque installed in the sidewalk.
On August 31, 2013 Riley Kitchell, the 2013 World Champion's plaque will be unveiled. Saturday, August 31, 2013 is Gold Rush Day and Street Fair in Historic Angels Camp.
