Burn Permits for Angels Camp Residents

Returning to the Angels Camp City Council agenda for next Tuesday, May 15, at 6 PM is the new ordinance for burn permits, which didn't pass the City Council the last time it came up for a vote. They are bringing it back with some changes, and insisting that this must be the new law of the land in Angels Camp.
Some of the hilarious parts of this new law in the first place was the 24' clearance around a pile of debris. Another council member disagreed with how often and who could get debris burning permits. Councilmember Lynch was asked about this by the Sentinel, and he suggested that people who don't have that much clearance may burn in the street. What a clever idea!
So far, Council Member Raggio has been against the entire idea, along with   Council Member Behiel, however, at the last meeting Mayor Morris relented and allowed it to be voted on again. There will be a public hearing, but this is the first reading and there could be a few members of the voting public present to give their opinions.
Could be an interesting meeting. They are meeting at the Angels Fire House on Vallecito Road in old Angels.
