Current county supervisors Tom Tryon and Gary Tofanellie only joked about it as they did in Aprils Board of Supervisors meeting. It it concerning to you that they don't seem to take it seriously?
Russ Thomas retorted that he likes socializing with other Board members, sees nothing wrong with it, and felt that was his favorite part of being a Supervisor. Should it not be that serving his constituents and the needs of the community are his favorite parts of being Supervisor?
While the Brown Act allows for socializing, the awkward appearance and unsure feelings it leaves with voters when they see a photo such as the one in last week’s issue, should make all elected officials more careful. Are voters right that feel that Supervisors who play together, vote together. The evidence of this seems to be overwhelming at each monthly meeting.
Should Supervisors like Callaway use their friendships with other Supervisors as it appears she does to get them to vote her way.
Debbie Ponte, candidate in District 4 stated "she respects and honors the Brown Act and is very familiar with the law because of her position on the Angels Camp City council in the past."
