George Fry Promotes Dave Haley and Sawmill

Like most of us, the Sierra Sentinel usually ignores George Fry's rants at the Board of Supervisors and other meetings.

But we do wonder who Mr. Fry is now working for that he is promoting a large development called Sawmill,  that Castle and Cooke and their local spokesperson Dave Haley have been pushing for years.

Fry ranted that now he is a promoter of development in Copper, quite a change from comments we've heard him make in the past against development and in favor of the restrictive General Plan Update.

In our quest for a reason why, some have asked if he is on the Castle and Cooke payroll now? Did he perhaps take Paul Stein's place?

We feel that this would be quite a detriment to C&C, who many already complain are taking over the town of Copperopolis.

Of course, if Castle and Cooke can get this development passed before the new anti-business General Plan is adopted, they could save millions that they might otherwise have to pay the County.

Everyone we've asked say that if Dave Haley and George Fry are now buddies, that there's a combination!

Fry is best known, among other things for taking a mentally challenged woman to San Diego and returning without her.

He is also extremely unpopular among elected officials in Angels Camp, where his rants were common. He recently moved to Copperopolis.

I think fry would be a total asset to c&c. just imagine what would happen.

I saw Fry in a white uniform at a Board meeting saying he's not allowed to say he represents the vets or something. i can never tell for sure what he's talking about.

shows how truly ignorant fry is. the last development brought lots of jobs; if you were willing to go stand in front of home depot or lowes to be picked up in one of their vans.
