According to a Calaveras Sheriff press release on April 4, 2020 around 9:15 PM deputies responding to a residence on
El Camino Casale Road in Murphys.
A male who allegedly had a shotgun was identified as Alexamder Koorkoff (48) of Murphys.
After all night negotiations, deputies surrounded the home with a woman inside. Shots were fired at deputies and they returned fire, wounding the suspect. He apparently asked them to shoot him.
Koorkoff was then taken into custody after a short resistance. The deputy who shot the victim is on administrative leave.
A search warrant was issued and the home was then searched and the scene is being processed.
