    September 26, 2020 at 4:10 PM:  Two motorhomes reportedly collided at Hwy 4 and Golden Torch Drive in Dorrington.

   No injuries have been indicated.

    September 26, 2020 at 3:30 PM:  A motorcycle collision has been reported on Hwy 26 near Paloma.

   An air ambulance is responding for the injured rider.  Several vehicles have pulled over to assist.

PG&E to shut off power Sunday September 27

    Most customers have been notified that on Sunday, September 27, 2020 PG&E plans to shut off the power in our area.

   The time given for the shutoff is 4 PM and it is expected to be off for two days at least.

Overturned vehicle in Farmington

    September 24, 2020 at 3:30 PM:  A vehicle has overturned as a result of a traffic collision at Escalon Bellota Road and Flood Road in Farmington.

   On vehicle is missing its hood and landed in the roadway. An ambulance is responding to the scene.

Motorcycle collision in Pioneer

    September 24, 2020 at 2 PM:  A motorcycle collision has been reported on Hwy 88 at Nobb Hill Court in the Pioneer area.

   An ambulance is responding to the scene, along with a tow truck for a fully dressed Harley.

Traffic collision in Farmington

    September 24, 2020 at 12 Noon:  A traffic collision has been reported on Hwy 4 at Waverly Road in Farmington.

    No injuries have been indicated. A tow truck is responding.

     On September 20, 2020 Calaveras Sheriff deputies arrested Nicholas Andrew Hart (22) of Arnold at his residence on Meadow Drive.

    Hart was booked into the Calaveras County Jail for alleged Causing Harm or Death to an elderly dependent, a felony, and for Contempt of Court: Breach of Peace, a misdemeanor.

    On September 9, 2020 Calaveras Sheriff deputies arrested Joyce Morreen Turpin (40) of Burson at the 10th Green Inn in Valley Springs.

   Turpin was booked into the Calaveras County Jail for alleged Possession of a Controlled Substance for sale and violation of probation, both felonies.

Arnold man arrested

    On September 10, 2020 Calaveras Sheriff deputies arrested Anthony Delbert Fults (20) of Arnold at the Sheriff's Office in San Andreas.

   Fults was booked into the Calaveras County Jail for alleged Vehicle Theft, 2nd degree burglary and burglary, all felonies and for Petty Theft, a misdemeanor.

    September 12, 2020 at 2 PM:  CCWD just notified us of a water main break on Barney Way and Acorn Way in West Point.

   Crews are working to restore water to the area.

    According to an announcement by Calfire, a female firefighter has died fighting one of the fires in California.

   A moment of silence was  held for the loss. She had 16 years of service, apparently.

    On September 10, 2020 Calaveras Sheriff deputies arrested Matthew Dewayne Williams of Arnold in the parking lot of the Snowshoe Brewery.

   Williams was booked into the Calaveras County Jail on a warrant for alleged 1st degree Burglary, a felony and for Possession of Burglary Tools and Vandalism, both misdemeanors.

    On September 9, 2020 Calaveras Sheriff deputies arrested John Ernest Butler (56) of Valley Springs on St. Charles Street in San Andreas.

    Butler was booked into the Calaveras County Jail for allegedly Threatening a Crime with intent to Terrorize, a felony and for Disorderly conduct due to Alcohol, a misdemeanor.

San Andreas man arrested

   On September 8, 2020 Calaveras Sheriff deputies arrested Shawn Christopher Anderson (44) of San Andreas at his residence on Calaveritas Road.

   Anderson was booked into the Calaveras County Jail for allegedly Causing harm or death to an elder dependent, a felony and for Obstructing or Resisting a police officer, a misdemeanor. 

Cruelty to Elder arrest in Burson

   On September 7, 2020 Calaveras Sheriff deputies arrested Donald David Nicholson (53) of Burson at his residence on Brandy Lane.

    Nicholson was booked into the Calaveras County Jail for alleged Cruelty to and Elder with Great Bodily Injury or death, a felony and for Destroying a Wireless device, a misdemeanor. 

Arrest for attempted burglary

    On September 6, 2020 Angels Camp Police arrested Gena Weingarten (41) of Angels Camp at her residence on Gardner Lane.

   Weingarten was booked into the Calaveras County Jail for an Outstanding warrant for alleged Attempted Burglary, a felony and for Possession of Burglary tools, a misdemeanor.

Copperopolis woman arrested

    On September 4, 2020 Kim Christine Quinones (61) was arrested at her residence on Copper Meadows Drive by Calaveras Sheriff deputies.

   Quinones was booked into the Calaveras County Jail for alleged Threats with Intent to Terrorize, a felony and for Exhibiting a deadly weapon (not a firearm), a misdemeanor.

Power returns to Arnold

    The power came back on around 1 PM on September 9, 2020 after being off since around 11 PM on Monday the 7th.

   Just before they turned it back on a big helicopter was seen overhead in downtown Arnold.

    September 9, 2020 at 11 AM:  A fire was reported in Forest Meadows and several engines and a water tender were dispatched to the scene.

   Approximately 1/4 acre was burned before being brought under control.

    September 5, 2020:  During the afternoon, residents in the Ebbetts Pass area of Calaveras County became concerned when ash began falling.

   Smoke and ash from the Creek Fire, near Shaver Lake appear to have been the cause. That fire seemed to explode suddenly. The fire seemed to be closer than it actually is.

    Prior to the regular September 8, 2020 Calaveras Supervisor meeting, they will hold a Closed Session to discuss purchases of right of ways for the Wagon Trail project on Hwy 4.

   This is the stretch of winding road between Copperopolis and Angels Camp, where so many collisions and deaths have occured.

    According to CCWD on September 9, 2020 they will be replacing a Reducing Valve and water will be turned off for a few hours.

   When it is turned back on, the area will need to boil their water for 2 days or until CCWD orders the Boil Advisory to be ended.

    September 3, 2020 at 8:40 AM:  An injured deer has been reported on Parrots Ferry Road near Camp Nine Road outside Vallecito.

    September 1, 2020 at 4:15 PM:  A PG&E line is reportedly down on Six Mile Road near Algiers Street in Murphys.

   Fire and PG&E are responding. Avoid the area if possible until repaired.

Fire reported in Phoenix Lake area

    September 1, 2020 at 3:45 PM:  A fire has been reported off Phoenix Lake Road in Sonora.

    Several engines, water tenders and air support are responding.  It is a residential structure and it is being knocked down quickly by crews at the scene.

Mountain Ranch man arrested

    On August 31, 2020 Calaveras Sheriff deputies arrested John Allen Logg (48) of Mountain Ranch at the county Sheriff's Office in San Andreas.

   Logg was booked into the Calaveras County Jail for allegedly Failing to Register as a Sex Offender and Violation of Parole, both felonies and for being Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Illegal Paraphernalia, both misdemeanors.

    September 1, 2020 at 7 AM:  CalFire reports that the CZU Fire in the Santa Cruz Mountains has now burned 85,218 acres and is now 43% contained.
