   On May 21, 2020 at around 3:30 PM an off duty canine at his handlers home, bit a visitor to the home.

   The male who was bitten was transported to the hospital for treatment.  The incident is being investigated to see if this dog is fit to be a sheriff's canine.

   Day was booked into the Calaveras County Jail for alleged for being a Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Possession of Prohibited Ammunition and Revocation of Command Supervision, all felonies and for Possession of illegal Parzphernalia and illegal Substance, both misdemeanors.

   Today at 3 PM the Angels Camp City Council will hold a Special Meeting jointly with the Calaveras Board of Supervisors.

   The meeting is to get an update on the COVID-19 status in Calaveras County. You can view the meeting live by going to the Calaveras County meetings section of their website.

Collision in Farmington

   May 6, 2020 @ 11:30 AM:  A traffic collision has been reported at Hwy 4 and Escalon Bellota Road in Farmington.

   An ambulance is responding. One vehicle is apparently on fire.   Be extra cautious if headed that direction.

Rollover in Clements

   May 6, 2020 at 6 AM:  A rollover has been reported near a barn on Clements Road in Clements.

   Minor injuries have been indicated. A tow truck is responding to the scene.

White Pines Park reopens....partially

   According to Joel Metzger of CCWD, White Pines Park is now reopened, at least partially, and only to Calaveras County residents.

   The 6 foot distance must be maintained between non-family participants.  No playing on any playground structures will be allowed.

BURN Permits required as of May 1, 2020

   CALFIRE is requiring permits to burn on your property as of May 1, 2020.

   You can go online and apply for a permit.
