   Caltrans is now requiring chains on Hwy 4 at the Mt. Reba turnoff in Bear Valley.

    Slow down and make sure you wear warm clothing if headed for the mountains.

City of Angels Camp buying more land?

   It seems the City of Angels Camp is afflux with money all of a sudden, judging by their real estate ventures.  Do they want to move from the current City Hall location?

   Is it possible the City is now trying to buy the Catholic pre-school building from St. Partricks Church next door?  Why is the church selling their building?

District 3 pipeline replacement resumes

   According to Calaveras County Water District, the work on the Reach l Pipeline Replacement in District 3 resumes on Monday March 2, 2020.

   The project is not expected to be completed until next fall.

Ready for a little weather?

  According to the weather service, we should get a little rain and possibly a dusting of snow in Ebbetts Pass this weekend.

   We can really use both, as summer is approaching way too quickly.

   Even in Arnold, we hear there are no more face masks available. Distributors have none on hand either.

  Apparently manufacturers are trying to step up supplies, but it takes time. We hear people went to stores and bought them out in one fell sweep.

   Other vehicles have stopped and the roadway is blocked. An ambulance is responding to the scene.

   February 28, 2020 at 8:30 AM:  A vehicle has reportedly struck a dog on Hwy 12 at Camanche Parkway in Wallace.

   Apparently the dog is still alive and stuck in the grill of the vehicle.

   February 26, 2020 at 3 PM:  Hwy 49 is closed due to a reported overturned logging truck in Carson Hill, near Red Hill Road.

    February 21, 2020 at 10:45 AM:  A body has been reported with a gunshot wound on Hwy 124 near Hwy 16 in the Plymouth area.

Nissan under semi on Hwy 4

   February 18, 2020 at 8 PM:  CHP has had Hwy 4 just this side of Hwy 99 closed as a semi was blocking the entire roadway due to a Nissan Altima jammed under the truck.

   The driver of the Nissan did not survive and it took hours to extricate the body from the wreck.

Caltrans work on Hwy 49

   According to a Caltrans notice, they will be working on Hwy 49 between Angels Camp and Melones Reservoir Wednesday February l9 through Friday February 21.

   One way traffic will be in effect as Caltrans works on erosion control.

Cal Fire gets funds for forest RESILIENCY??

   Cal Fire is awarding $67 million in grants throughout California to restore and maintain healthy forests.
