November 16, 2023 at 2:20 PM: A fire has been reported on White Gulch Road and Morgan Drive near Groveland.

Firearm arrest in San Andreas
According to the Calaveras Sheriff, on November 10, 2023 around 8:30 PM, a traffic stop led to a discovery of drugs and weapons inside the vehicle.
Steven Starky of Manteca was booked into the Calaveras County jail on multiple alleged charges, including possession of controlled substances for sale and illegal possession of a firearm.

November 14, 2023 at 3 PM: A traffic collision has been reported on Murphys Grade Road at French Gulch Road in Murphys.
A single car apparently struck a stone wall. It isn't yet known if there are injuries.
Four fires from debris burns
Calfire reports that they have recently had to respond to 4 different debris burns that escaped into a wildland fire.
Two on November 11, 2023, were in Tuolumne County, had no proper clearance, and were issued citations. The other two, on November 12, 2023, were in Copperopolis and Rancho Calaveras, also without clearance and oversized piles.

November 10, 2023 at 8:45 AM: A traffic collision has been reported on Parrotts Ferry Road at Moaning Cave Road in Vallecito.
Minor injuries are indicated and a 25' cable required to pull vehicle out of the heavy brush.
Hit and Run at Hwy 12 and Hwy 26
November 10, 2023 at 8 AM: A big rig reportedly struck a water meter and other pipes at Hwy 26 and Hwy 12 in Toyon area and did not stop.
The water company has been notified. CHP is responding to the scene.

A tow truck is responding due to the Jeep being stuck in a ditch. No injuries have been indicated.

November 8, 2023 at 12:45 PM: A Calaveras Unified bus was reportedly struck in the rear by a crossing arm at Baldwin and McAtee in Rancho Calaveras.

UPDATE: We understand that the bridge has been damaged and will have to be closed for repairs. CHP says injuries are minor.
Hwy 108 closed by snow
November 6, 2023 at 9 AM: Hwy 108 is closed east of Strawberry due to snow in the pass.
Best to avoid the area if possible. No travel restrictions have been indicated on Hwy 4 or Hwy 88 at this time.
