     June 29, 2026 at 10:40 AM:  An elderly person ran a truck off the roadway and into a pole on Baldwin Street in Rancho Calaveras.

    June 27, 2026 at 2:45 PM:  A grass fire has been reported on Lime Kiln Road at Jacobs Road in Sonora.

    Engines, air, water tenders and dozers have been dispatched to the area.

    Calfire plans a control burn of the Fowler Peak area of Bear Mountain on Wednesday, June 24, 2026.

    There could be smoke in the Copperopolis and Angels Camp areas during the burning.

Car runs off road in Mountain Ranch

    June 21, 2026 at 12:50 PM:  A traffic collision has been reported on Railroad Flat Road at Emigrant Trail in Mountain Ranch.

   One vehicle is off the roadway. A tow truck is responding. It isn't known if there are injuries.

    Jon Roth is an ace!  He rescued me outside of Arnold - flat tire - on the side of Hwy 4 and with an ear to ear grin, drove the spare to the tire shop for air,

NO BURNING ALLOWED!!!

   As of June 12, 2026 there is no burning allowed in Calaveras or Tuolumne counties due to increased fire danger.

   Even with a permit do not burn.  We don't want any fires in our area!!

Fire at Lake Camanche

    On June 10, 2026 a fire started near where Calfire had been clearing at Lake Camanche.

    The fire burned 46 acres so far and is now 45% contained.

Collision in Rancho Calaveras

    June 10, 2026 at 7:30 AM:  Two cars have reportedly collided and ended up in the ditch on Hwy 26 at Silver Rapids in Rancho Calaveras.

   It isn't known if there are injuries. A tow truck is responding.

Car vs pole in Fiddletown

    June 7, 2026 at 10:45 AM:  A vehicle reportedly struck a pole on Fiddletown Road in Fiddletown.

    The vehicle is blocking the roadway, a person is sitting in the middle of the road. An ambulance is responding. 

Overturned portable building in San Andreas

    June 4, 2026 at 10 AM:  An overturned portable trailer has been reported on Rocky Road and Old Gulch Road in San Andreas.

   A crane may be necessary to move it out of the roadway.

Did Clyde Clapp beat Stopper in District 5 Supervisor race?

    June 3, 2026 at 11:30 AM:  If all the votes are in for the District 5 Supervisor election, there was kind of a surprise in store.

   Clapp came in 1st, with Guidice and Stopper following.  No one got 50% so there will be a run off in November between the top two, Clapp and Guidice.   Stopper will be out of a job.       

Cement truck blocking Hwy 4

      June 2, 2026 at 1:45 PM:  A cement truck is reportedly blocking traffic on Hwy 4 at Telegraph in Copperopolis.

    Traffic is backing up and are unable to pass. CHP has been notified.

Fire at Lake Camanche

    June 2, 2026 at 10:30 AM:  A grass fire has been reported on Wade Lane at Lake Camanche.

    Calfire is at the site.

    

Calfire to control burn at PAWS

    On June 4 and 5, 2026 Calfire plans to control burn over 100 acres at PAWS refuge in San Andreas.

    You will see smoke on Thursday and Friday as a result.
