Calaveras Supervisors want another RAISE??

    At their November 12, 2024 board meeting, the Supervisor have on their agenda

New Fairfield Hotel on Calaveras Planning agenda

    On November 14, 2024 at 9 AM the Calaveras Planning Commission will hold a lengthy meeting
discussing the newly planned Fairfield Hotel in San Andreas.

   Owned by St. Charles Hospitality, the 79 room hotel is planned for Hwy 49 across from Treats store.

Car goes 200' down a ravine

   UPDATE: The roadway is now clear.

Gary Tofanelli wins another term as Supervisor

   District 1 has re-elected Gary Tofanelli for another 4 years as their Supervisor. 

  In District 2, Autumn Andahl was elected to replace Supervisor Garamendi, who is retiring.

Mokelumne Hill woman arrested

   On November 4, 2024 Calaveras deputies arrested Terry Sue Rueger (58) of Mokelumne Hill on Hwy 49 and Campo Seco Road.

   Rueger was booked on alleged DUI with bodily injury and DUI .08 with bodily injury, both felonies.

House fire in Glencoe

    November 7, 2024 at 3:40 PM:  A house fire has been reported on Independence Road in Glencoe.

   Several engines and water tenders are responding.

Firearm assault in Railroad Flat

   On November 1, 2024 Calaveras Sheriff deputies booked Margaret JoAnn Williams (60) of Railroad Flat into the Calaveras County Jail.

   Williams is alleged to have assaulted a person with a firearm and made threats using a firearm, both felonies.

Car over cliff on Parrotts Ferry Road

    November 6, 2024 at 4:30 PM:  A car has reportedly gone over the cliff on Parrotts Ferry Road near Porcina Way. An ambulance is responding to the scene.

   The car after crashing with another went around 300 yards down the cliff before stopping. Fire rescue is attempting to remove her from the car.

Collision on Hwy 4

   UPDATE at 11:50 AM:  Community Thrift says they have the collision on video.

Car fire in Valley Springs

    November 5, 2024 at 7:45 AM:  A car fire has been reported on Hwy 26 at Mangili Drive in Valley Springs.

   Calfire is responding to the scene.

Avery woman arrested

    On October 31, 2024 Calaveras Sheriff deputies arrested Megan Elizabeth Bortz (33) of Avery on Blagen Road in Arnold.

  Bortz was booked into the Calaveras County Jail for alleged infliction of corporal injury on a co-habitant and for misdemeanor exhibition of a deadly weapon other than a firearm.

House fire in Rancho Calaveras

    November 4, 2024 at 9:40 AM:  A house fire has been reported on Rippon Road in Rancho Calaveras.

   Several engines have been dispatched to the scene.

Trees blocking Murphys Grade Road

    November 4, 2024 at 9:25 AM:  In what appears to be a hit and run, several trees have been knocked down and a possible overturned vehicle have been reported on Murphys Grade Road near French Gulch Road.

   Some drivers have been trying to clear the roadway. CHP is en route to the scene.
