It was started by a man cutting down a tree, lost control of the fall and it hit a power line.

August 14, 2014: According to USFS the Happy Camp Complex Fire (20 fires) which began on August 11, 2014 because of lightning, is now 1200 acres near Happy Camp in the Klamath National Forest.

AT&T Van crashes on Hwy 26
August 14, 2014: CHP is en route to the scene of an AT&T while van that reportedly crashed on Hwy 26 at St. Andrews Rd. in Valley Springs around 10:30 AM.
It was a solo vehicle crash, according to witnesses. Use extra caution if headed to that area.

County road crews are responding with chain saws to a report of a tree down at Ospital Rd near Hwy 12 in Burson.

A burglary was reported on August 13, 2014 in Mokelumne Hill at a residence on Hawver Rd.

Arrest on Country Club Drive in Arnold
According to the Calaveras Sheriff, on August 13, 2014 Danny Wayne Jordan (59) was arrested after they received a complaint of a disturbance of screaming and yelling on Country Club Drive in Arnold.
Jordan was booked into the Calaveras County Jail, received a citation and was released.

A shed and motorhome were reported broken into on August 13, 2014 by a resident on Hwy 49 in Mokelumne Hill.

Burson Woman Arrested
According to the Calaveras Sheriff, Jacqueline Ann Rosofsky (33) of Burson, was arrested in Burson for alleged Prohibited Ammunition, a felony and for Possession of a Stun Gun by a felon, a misdemeanor.
In addition Rosofsky had three outstanding warrants for alleged Felony violation of Probation, according to the arrest record. She was booked into the Calaveras County Jail.
