July 31, 2021 at 1PM: A head-on traffic collision has been reported on Railroad Flat Road in Railroad Flat.
Minor injuries have been indicated. The roadway is blocked. A tow truck is responding.

Car crashes into Sheriff's office
According to CHP on July 29, 2021 around 4:40AM Calaveras Sheriff's deputies responded to an alarm
34 homes destoyed in Dixie Fire so far.
As of July 29, 2021 AM Calfire shows at least 34 homes have been destroyed by the 200,000 + acre Dixie Fire in the Lake Almanor area.
It is only 23% contained.

According to CHP on July 27, 2021 around 1:15 PM Dan Neill (65) of Arnold attempted to pass
Caltrans to reopen Hwy 4 and Hwy 89
On July 28, 2021 Caltrans will reopen both Hwy 4 and Hwy 89 over Ebbetts Pass.
Good progress has been made on the Tamarack Fire, allowing for travel over the pass to resume.
