   As of July 31, 2022 at 9 AM the Oak Fire is 19,244 acres and is 64% contained.

   As we expected 182 homes have been found destroyed

Overturned car in Jamestown

    July 29, 2022 at 8:40 AM:  An overturned car on its roof has been reported at Hwy 49 and Sims Road in Jamestown.

   A tow truck and ambulance are responding. 

Fire in Mountain Ranch

   UPDATE:  Someone had actually started a campfire. Put out immediately.

Collision at Toyon

    July 29, 2022 at 7:45 AM:  A vehicle collision has been reported in front of Toyon Middle School on Hwy 12 at Double Springs Road.

    

Three vehicles are involved. An ambulance has been dispatched to the scene.

"Come see for yourself" says Sheriff DeBasilio! "We're hiring!!!"

    According to an offical email press release from the Calaveras Sheriff, the public is invited to come and see for themselves their law enforcement professionals at work.

     They are hiring for exciting jobs as the link between the public and law enforcement. No experience is necessary (that's obvious)!

    July 28, 2022 at 8:15 AM:  A small grass fire has been reported at Hwy 88 and Sugar Loaf Road in Pine Grove.

    Engines have been dispatched to the scene.

Homes destroyed in Oak Fire

    July 27, 2022 at 9:15 AM: The number of homes burned in the Oak Fire continues to grow; as of this morning the number is 74 with others damaged.

   Total acreage only grew by 500 acres yesterday, which would seem to indicate all the help from air support is working.
